I was on the Nuvaring took it out for the week of my period then left it out for 2 weeks AFTER the week i had my period . I put it in on Friday around 4pm then i had sex the next day around 2pm so my birth control was only in for about 24 hours , is it like having unportected sex because it was only in for 1 day when you suppose to leave it in for 7 in order for it to work , i know it was stupid so i don't need to hear that . Im just wondering how high the chances are of me being pregnant , i did not use a condom either and i had sex about 5 days before my expected period (Saturday) my period is suppose to come Thursday . i hope someone can help me because im worrying .

Unfortunately it doesn't say here if you've recently started taking BC pill. If you have recently started taking BC pills then this bleeding may be normal. For example when a Woman starts taking BC pills during her period, this period will be different from her 2nd period which will occur when the Woman has been on BC pills for 4 weeks. The 2nd period will be a lot lighter than your usual period prior to starting BC Pills & this is perfectly normal. However if you've been on BC pills for a while & suspect pregnancy, then I would advise yu see your Doctor for a Quantitative beta HCG pregnancy blood test. You'll need to ask your Doctor specifically for this blood test so write down the name of it. This test can be performed 7 days after conception has taken place (or suspected conception) & is 100% accurate. It will take 3 days for the results to come back to your Doctor.

It could quite possibly mean that you are pregnant. That barely bleeding could have been implantation bleeding. You should probably take a pregnancy test. To ensure the best results: * Take the test in the morning, if possible, because your hCG (pregnancy hormone) levels are at it's highest * Don't drink a bunch of fluids before taking the test because it will dilute your urine and can affect the results * Take the test no more than 1 day before expected period. To move your period from Friday to Sunday on birth control, start your next pack five days earlier (after only two days of the pill-, ring-, or patch-free interval). Don't just start the next pack two days later, as doing so will increase the risk of pregnancy. (It's important to never have a drug-free interval of more than seven days.)

It probably doesn't mean anything but ask your nurse or doctor next time you visit. I'm on the contraceptive depo injection and when i first began the injections (every 3-4 months) i had very uneven bleeding but it's settled down to pretty much a normal period now.

I hate my period as much as the next person but I'd personally rather have one whilst on birth control so that i know it's definitely working and I'm not pregnant!!
