The first dog to play Lassie died in 1958 at the age of 18. The current Lassie, nicknamed Mason, appeared in the 2005 film with Peter O'Toole and is still alive.

There were several dogs to play Lassie, it just was not one dog. The first dog who played Lassie was named "Pal" in 1943. Pal appeared in movies from 1943 to 1951, and in the pilots for the first TV series in 1954. Pal was bred to continue the look of Lassie. Eight generations of Pal and his descendants portrayed the beloved collie in two television series and ten movies, through the late 1990s.

Long haired dogs that are not clipped, and dogs that drool more, will be the worst dogs to have for an asthmatic who reacts to dogs, but are not going to affect an asthmatic who does not have a dog allergy.

I have 3 siamese cats and 2 rough collies. Having said that, border collies are an entirely different breed than rough collies. Border collies are extremely intelligent and can be excellent family members with firm training. Siamese cats are not going to be subject to training in my opinion, but they are the best of all the cat breeds in terms of intelligence. Cats and dogs are just different in how they approach life and relationships. Dogs have owners whom they worship, and cats have servants meant to bring them treats and love when they're looking for either. It's like apples and oranges.

Border collies are genially friendly but will snap sometimes if provoked. They are very smart and can outsmart u easily so watch out.

No not all border collies are hyper. it depends how you raise them. if they get no exersize and get over fed your border collie will be lazy. if you take your collie for walks about 4-7 times a week and keep him on a good diet your border collie will be fit and hyper, but they wont be over hyper even fit border collies can be lazy sometimes.

I personally have noticed this feature in dogs with highly intelligent and sensitive temperaments (in any breed); not proven by science, but my own observation of many dogs and many years. I always try to buy a puppy with that little "bump"near the back of its head.

Well, if they have a 'pack' of 3 or more, yes it is possible for it to bring down a full grown lion. They are very powerful, and if their owner is being attacked or their mate or pups, they will fight to the death, as they are very loyal and protective of their family. However, they do not go around attacking anything without good reason.
