How do you program Philips universal remote for mediacom cable?
I purchased a Philips model# SRU5107WM17 remote and had same problem with my Mediacom cable/dvr. Could not find the codes in the in package nor on the Philips website. I had to do some research. Not sure what brand of cable box you have but I have PACE and the Motorola codes worked for my Pace cable/dvr box. The code I used was 1077. If Motorola codes don't work, the Scientific Atlanta codes work for some Pace cable/dvr boxes. It is a shame that between Mediacom and Philips don't help customers out better.

In North America and Europe there are moves in progress to stop analog television broadcasts in the coming year or two. 2010 is the cut off year for the US and 2012 for the UK. By that time, all television broadcasting will be digital.

Digital terrestrial broadcasts can be received by a digital television (all new televisions in 2010 have digital receivers fitted) or they can be received with a digital set top box (known in the UK as a Freeview box). The available channels may vary from one region to another so you will need to find out your local service. A set top box can be bought for £20 in the UK and $30 or so in US stores.
Satellite receivers can be used (Direct TV among others in the US and Sky in the UK) Most packages require a subscription but there are free channels on satellite platforms. In the UK, Freesat is a publicly funded platform that offers subscription free services including HD channels.
The last option is cable. Virgin has most of the UK market for cable and there are numerous cable providers in America. Each has its own package of channels with a wide variety of prices.
The choice of platform and vendor is down to price and channel requirements but there is absolutely no requirement to have cable to continue receiving television broadcasts.

This particular TV can be possibly be restored if A VERY STRONG AC magnet is slowly removed therefore removing the flux.

What is digital signal and how its different then analog signals?
Digital signals have discrete encoded states that they switch between. They can only assume the defined encoded values. Errors can often be easily detected and sometimes corrected.
Analog signals are continuous and change smoothly from one value to another, passing through all intermediate values. There is no way to identify errors.

If it's a newer TV, look for a small hole in the front of the cabinet by the controls. It's the reset button. Use a small ink pen or even a toothpick and give the button inside a little push. If it resets and clears up, your microprocessor had locked up. If it doesn't correct the problem, unplug the set for 15 minutes and then plug it in again. Wait a couple of minutes and then turn it on. If neither of these clear it up, it's time for a service call.

Nad receiver code for comcast remote?
... I have a a NAD receiver and its remote control unit is not fully functioning i.e., I did replaced with new batteries yet it does on control the functions in the receiver. Whatever the keys I just press on the remote, I find the light and that is all, just the light on the keys but no functions at all.
What could be the reason for it? I also notice, a tiny red colour butten just on the middle of the remote and it reads LEARN. Should we need to reset this or what I really should do.

That's pretty much a dealer-item. You can probably get one from a wrecking yard. They probably don't wear out that often so you can feel reasonably safe with a used one.
