take the top cover off the engine. the sensor is rectangle shape and is to the right towards the throttle body.

if it is the 32 valve northstar V8, yes, the service manual states you need to pull the engine to change the oil pan and/or gasket. if you have access to a rack or a lift though, the easier thing to do is to use a brace to support the engine, and lower the subframe under the car a few inches(or, totally disconnect the subframe and let it all sit on the floor. this will give you enough clearance to replace the oil pan. it'll be a tight fit, but it will be MUCH easier than removing the whole engine assembly

3 filters total don't replace them they are fine. just change the fluid. unless you are having issues the shift solenoids are known to break its a $100 - $200 fix

The senors need to be replaced, they are about $75.00 a piece and there are 4. Even if you replace the brakes; until replace the senors it will is flash change brake pads on dashboard

I have the same message on in my 2004 STS but there was no speed limit imposed. (I was recently on a long trip and did exceed 90mph for short bursts on a couple of occasions.)

Have you fixed yours? If so, what did it take?

I have a 2001 Seville Cadillac that the service Engine soon light comes on after I happen to use certain fuels. It seems that ethanol type fuels are the worst. The light will go out after I put in a higher octane fuel. Not sure this is my complete problem but it always seems to go out in time. I keep wondering if there is some type of fuel additive I could add that would make the light go out faster.

it means your struts need to be checked and or replaced. the deville has an automatic ride control that eletronically controls the ride height of the vehicle front and rear. there are passive struts available from the dealer..or aftermarket air ride or passive systems available for it on the net. i suggest the dealer or a reputable mechanic do this as the electronic control has to be disabled if the passive struts are installed.

This is not true,push the reset button on the instrument panel & the traction control lite will go out.By turning off the engine stops the current to the traction control.actually the guy above me is miss informed yes the condition that you described is possible and it is what is refered to as a parasitic drain in the world of automotive repair. the condition is possible with nearly any electrical system on your vehicle. this happens when a particular component malfunctions and continues to run after the ignition is switched off. i however cannot speak for your situation because i did not diagnose your vehicle , so i cannot be certain that it is the case , but it is however very possible.

No...unless u use adapters and then it throws off the offset...not recommended.

there are two bolts in the oil pan...one in front and one towards the rear. you drain the oil out, then remove the oil filter. put a new filter on and put the bolts back into the pan (dont strip them out), then add five quarts of oil by dumping it into the valve cover

Park the vehicle on a level surface. Drain the oil and change the filter. Pour in 4.5 quarts of the correct weight oil and start the engine. Let it run for 2 minutes and shut down. Wait 30 minutes and check the oil level. Add as necessary to reach the full mark on the dip stick. You now know the capacity. Do not overfill.

The easiest way to learn how to learn how to do that, is to go down your local auto parts store and pay $20 - $35 dollars for an auto repair manual. I have a Chiltons and it has the whole process detailed out and with pictures.

Hard turning in one direction can mean a bind in the front end components or the power steering fluid flow is not switching from one side to the other. Check the tie rod ends and steering components with the front end lifted on jack stands.

Sparks under the hood of a car are caused by shorts in the electrical system. A broken wire or loose connection is usually the culprit.

There isn't one. GM doesn't use this function like Ford and other makes do. I just got this info from a GM tech.
