Why do studio audio recordings sound better than live recordings?
The short answer is it's due to the acoustics of the venue interacting with event being recorded.
But this answer applies only to you and others that share this perspective. For many others, the acoustics of the venue adds another dimension to the recording, and is therefore very desirable. This is somewhat dependant on the listener, but does require 'better' quality playback equipment as well as good quality files(if via iPod/computer) in order to clearly distinquish the venue acoustics as something separate from the performance. With low quality playback, this is not easily resolved by your ear/brain and therefore is heard as simply 'noise'. This is likely why you feel studio recordings sound better.

In general, no. CD-ROM is read-only. You can only read from it after a manufacturer writes to the disc permanently.
However, there are recordable CDs (CD-R), which allow you to write once.
And, there are rewritable (CD-RW), which allow you to write and erase many times.
The same goes for existing DVD technology (DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW).

As I know, it doesn't matter what the video format is when you burn a video to DVD-rw or DVD+rw. What's important is that whether your DVD burner supports the video format.
