Will a big block motor fit in a 1997 f body camaro?
Yes, but you'll have to clearance the lower crossmember and make custom motor mounts. Also, you'll need to make custom headers. With modification you can use the stock accessory bracket if you clearance the valve cover on that side, but you'll need to use a water pump with a pulley. Also, the steering rack will need to be lowered, as well as the front stabilizer bar. If you're looking for power, then just build a supercharged smallblock because it's cheaper, easier, and more liveable in the long run. The only reason to put a big block in there is for the novelty.

How do you repair the speedometer illumination on a 1996 Honda Passport?
I have recently done this. You have to remove all of the facing from the dashboard that goes from the left of the vehicle over by the cruise control button to the middle covering the radio. this all snaps off but be careful not to break it as it is pretty brittle. then unplug all of the buttons on the left and right of the instrument panel (hazard, cruise control, rear wipers, etc.). adjust the steering column as low as it will go and remove the dashboard facing. You should now see 4 screws holding the instrument cluster in place. Remove those screws and the cluster should come free. then gently pull it out to gain access to the plugs behind the cluster. pull all the plugs. One plug should be yellow and has a red clip that you must remove before the clip will come free. after you have the cluster free, in the back, you will see all the plugs where the bulbs go. twist them counter clockwise and they will release. replace them with the correct size bulb USING BULB GREASE. This will insure a better connectivity with less resistance making these hard-to-reach little buggers burning longer. This also protects against corrosion and moisture. Replace everything the way it came out and it should light up like the day you bought it. let me know if this helps.
I have the same issue with my 96 passport. It seems that this is a common thing. I haven't replaced the bulbs yet but plan on doing this soon. From the research I've done by studying the manual, you must first DISARM THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. Do this by pulling the two fuses from the drivers side fuse box. Then you must disconnect the yellow wire under the steering column going to the air bag. After you've made sure your not going to accidentally set off a small explosion with the air bag, you can then take out the dash by dismantling the steering column cover and dash gauge cover. After that, I believe it's a matter of gaining access to the back of the gauge cluster so you can find out what kind of bulbs it takes and if that's even the problem. I believe it uses the Sylvania 74 type. I'll write back to confirm or correct after I get around to doing this. Anyone else have any info?

Depending on where it snaps, if theres any way to get some vise grips on the broken cable do so. If not you will have to take out all the bolts for the front clip you can get to and bend it up till you can get a long screwdriver (flat) to pop the latch.
you have a bad connection or grounding wire somewhere. start at the fuel pump relay have it checked at the parts store. then work backwards toward fuel pump repairing any cracked or exposed wires and cleaning all connectors along the way. if you still only have 6 volts then start at the relay and trace in the same manner in the other direction. i thing you wont have to go any farther than the relay though. grounding wires are just as important so dont leave them out, make sure they are clean, in good condition, and have solid contact with the frame, this goes for the one from your battery to the engine block as well.

On the left and right sides of the steering wheel are small rectangular or similarly shaped plastic covers. Pry them out ro remove and this reveals the screws (usually torx screws). Remove these and the entire steering wheel air bag will come out as one peice after disconnecting the wire harness. remove the steering wheel center nut then twist the wheel left and right to free it from the shaft (before sliding it off mark its location on the shaft so the wheel ends up straight again!) Pay attention to how the wires are oriented while slowly removing the air bag assembly and re-install exactly without pinching any wires. There are also the plastic top and bottom half covers between the instrument panel and wheel (the steering column) that have to come off. These hides what you are replacing. 1 screw is accessible from underneath the bottom half cover, the other 2 face the driver. remove the 4 screws that hold the airbag/horn wiring and slide it off the shaft. there are 3 more screws that hold the switch assy in place, take them out, unplug the plugs on the assembly and the rest is obvious!

The fuse box swivels down and out after squeezing the plastic tabs on either side. Will probably have to remove the plastic housing covering the contents under the dash.
