if you or your mechanic cant figure it out then you could switch to a passive system. these struts or shocks dont have wires coming out of them.they come with two relays that plug into the wires from the car and send an ok signal to the onboard computer. but i have a problem with my service suspention message still coming on. so i am waiting for two more relays to come .its always something.

Price to Replace oil pan gasket on 2001 Monte Carlo Chevy?
Alot! I did it for a client and charged $50 thinking it was a easy access pan. WRONG! It requires dropping the sub-frame from under the car while supporting the engie from up top. The bottom mount suppport its a real bear to put back on. I had my bro help me by pushing on the back of the bolt while I turned it. Other wise the bolt between the enging and the axle housing would of been left out. It took me from 8pm to 5am so, I suspect it would be 6 hours labor at a shop x $80 per hour plus parts. I left the oil pick gaske alone since the torx hole was filled with carbon. You will need 4 jacks stands (2) 2x4 pieces of wood and a chaing to supporth the engine. Set of extra hands at some point. A ratcheting box end, flex head 15mm wrench would help on that mount too.

There is two clips that you have to take off the back of the headlight. then the whole thing will come out so you can get to the light that you are trying to replace.

You have to drop the pan on the tranny by taking the bolts out of the pan and it will come down, there is a filter that needs to be changed under the tranny pan also, clean old gasket off the pan and clean the pan out real good and install new gasket on the pan and reinstall the pan with the bolts and tighten to 15 ft. lbs.
Try wiggling the wires that go to the underside of the fuse box for the ignition switch located on the drivers side fender under the hood. I'm having the same problem with my 98 monte. Just haven't figured out if its the harness or the ignition switch. I also pulled the fuse for the ignition switch and cleaned the contacts. They were dirty and corroded on top and on the under side of the fuse box. I just sprayed them with WD-40. The car stays running when I get it started now but I have to play with the wires to get started again after I shut it off. Hope it helps

With key on, radio off, hold down the top button on the radio. The screen will change, then use the seek button till oil life comes up. when it does hit the dis, button again, it should say reset.
- jwko - also you can turn key on and depress gas peddle 3 times and light will flash and reset, can be tricky, 3 times within 5 seconds i belive. Took me several times to master that on my 2000 SS
