How do you counsel your child with school phobia?

try and tell them the positives of school and the friends they are going to make and the knowledge they will agin. good luck!

Answer

First listen to their concerns. Did this happen before attending class or within a few weeks? Could be the teacher's style, other children's bullying, or learning problems. When you face up to the problem, then you can support your child.

My 2.5 year-old doesn't speak till now but he looks normal would he still be autistic?

If your child is Autistic then they will always be Autistic, that cannot change as Autism is part of their neurology and who they are. I'm not entirely sure why 'looks normal' is a reason to think his Autism is in question, Autistic people look no different to neurotypical people.

Please, if your child is Autistic you need to learn about Autism.

Would corporal punishment raise a well-behaved child?

No, for most children emphasize on corporal punishment would cause neurotic intraversion and fear of speaking up their opinions or to demand any right for him/herself.

In other words, it creates (generally) a very serious case of low self-esteem.

Why do you need fresh air?

air that is not fresh contains chemicals which are harmful to your lungs and other organs.

What etc do children need?

The term etc. just means "and the list goes on". It depends on what the question is as to what the etc. is.

Children need many, many different things as they age and develop, and what they need during that time is very dependent on the child themselves. I cant fit or possibly even begin to describe in this question what they need in total, but I can generally say they need a dependable person, and a sense of stability in nature and in their lives. Openness of the Parent is key.

What does grossly intact mean?

It's like "gross anatomy". It's referring to the big structures of the body, the stuff you don't need a microscope to see. So the doctor means that your labrum (the cartilage in your shoulder) looked OK ("intact"), and you don't have an obvious labral tear.

There could be micro-tears in the cartilage, but the doctor didn't look at it with a microscope.

So you don't have a labral tear, which is good news. The bad news is that they don't know the source of your shoulder pain, if you're having any. But if they were just checking you out because you had an accident involving your shoulder, and you feel OK, this confirms that.

Is it normal for a four year old to have an erection?

Dear Worried Mom,

Boys begin having erections when they are newborn infants and continue to have them several times a day throughout childhood. The reasons for these erections are physiological and have nothing to do with sexual arousal. It's quite possible that the appearance of the erection and the kissing on TV was simply a coincidence. Your son's reaction does not strike me as being abnormal in any way. Incidentally, young girls also have physiological genital changes, with increased lubrication from time to time, although they are less obvious.

However, I'm not sure that watching adult programs on TV is a good thing for young children, because it distracts them from more age-appropriate activities such as playing, drawing or other artistic play, or learning the ABCs. That said, your watching TV along with your son is better than him watching alone. From a child development standpoint, it would be even better if you were doing something together--say, looking at a book, doing housework, or just playing.

In your son's case, I think you can tell him that his penis will get larger at some times and then be smaller at others (that's what penises do). If you notice that he is touching his penis a lot, you can certainly talk with him about that (see our sexuality section.) Then, make a decision to limit the amount of adult TV--and really, the amount of all TV--that your son watches. That will probably mean leaving the TV off during the day and evenings. In the long run, I think this policy is best for children's emotional and intellectual development. - by Robert Needlman, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Can 8 year old get Erections and how and you tell?

Yes, boys can get erections at any age and have been known to get them while still in the womb. It is completely normal and natural. As far as telling when or if it has happened, you really cant. And, honestly, I can't think of any reason you would need to. But, it is safe to assume an 8 year old has had a few.

He probably wouldn't even notice it, and if he does notice he would not understand it. It is not until puberty that erections start to mean something to them when masturbation begins.

Have been breast feeding your baby who is now 4 months and half old you are due to start back at work in six weeks so you need him to take a bottle with other milk during the hours you work you have t?

Congratulations on choosing to breastfeeding your baby and giving him a great start on life! While going back to work may be a fact of life for you, stopping breastfeeding does not have to be a fact of life too. Arrange to take a breast pump with you to work and make sure your employer has a room set aside for nursing mothers so that you can express breast milk to later feed to your child. Doing this will allow you to continue the positive benefits of nursing. After work you can nurse your son as normal and then when you have to be away, use the milk you have pumped at work the previous day to feed him. Doing this will help you keep up a strong supply of natural mother's milk and not rely on mass produced chemicals to feed your young son.

Why is your 3 year old speech not clear?

There are many possible reasons, nearly all of them treatable. Have doctors (audiologists especially) checked your child for a hearing disorder? Sometimes, children are partially deaf and because they cannot hear sounds clearly, it becomes difficult to imitate them. Have you taken your child for a neurological exam to rule out such things as autism spectrum disorders? These too can impede a child from speaking clearly, and early intervention can bring some positive results. And finally, have you had your child evaluated by a speech therapist? There are certain children who have developmental delays, and regular speech therapy can do wonders for them.

Is stuttering affected by developmental delays?

Researchers claim that children with other speech and language problems are more likely to stutter than those who do not.

Being under stress, overly tired, or having any extreme emotion can make stuttering worse or make it start if you are prone to stutter. Make sure you are getting plenty of sleep; try to destress your life as much as possible; try to avoid situations that cause emotions like anger. The Stuttering Foundation of America is a great source for help. They have information for all ages, online videos, free e-books, and downloadable brochures.

What does embryo look like in x-ray?

My guess would be nothing, as X-Rays cast an outline of bone and considering the embryo won't have full developed bones it won't cast an outline.

At what age do boys start to not need their mother as much?

Children all begin to gain their independence at different stages and find some parts of growing up easier than others so this really depends on the situation at hand, if you are raised in a loving supportive environment may tend to be more needing of their Mom throughout their Teen years, however a Boy that has a Mom that may not be supportive to them can easily not need their Mom earlier on in life.
