Why would a '94 Chrysler Concorde suddenly start revving while idling accompanied by quick headlight flickers?

I had this problem with my Fifth Ave and it was the o2 sensor but I would not suggest just going replacing parts without checking them first. To get a ballpark idea where to start check for codes. HERES HOW: (DO NOT START ENGINE) Begin with key in off position turn key (on, off, on, off, on)then your engine light will blink 2 digit codes. It will blink 1st digit then pause then 2nd digit. Ex. (blink,blink-pause-blink,blink,blink) this would be a code 23 here is a link for codes http://www.allpar.com/fix/80s-codes.html This site also has a lot of info on MOPAR.

How do you change transmission fluid on a 96 Chrysler concord?

There are really two methods for changing the fluid for most people. The first involves suctioning out the fluid through the dipstick then refilling it. The second involves removing the pan from the bottom of the transmission; this will also allow you to access the filter and change it. Either of these methods do not address the fluid in the torque converter so this will really only change about half the fluid. Transmission shops & some repair shops/quick lube locations have the equipment to flush and fill all the fluid. The plastic $15 hand-turned rotary pump PEP boys sells worked for me. The pump is in the back where they sell oil and grease. Just put the plastic suction line down the tranny fill tube. Measure what you pump out (use a milk jug, for instance), and put the same amount back in. Later, check the fluid level with the engine warm and running, gear selector in Park. CAUTION: Get your fluid from the dealer. These transmissions take a special fluid. (I drive a 96 Concorde also.) The dealer parts counter will need your VIN. Ask the parts man if you don't know where the VIN is. Some fluid does remain in the torque converter. Some people ignore this, some people (like me) drive the car for a while, then change the tranny fluid again by pumping out of the fill tube. At some point you've changed most of the fluid. Of course, the only correct way is to pull the tranny pan, change the fluid, and change the filter. Difficult and makes a huge mess, but all other ways are pure shadetree. Well, you gotta decide for yourself, I guess.

How do you change the battery in a 2000 Chrysler Concorde?

Checking the service manual you have to take the passenger front wheel off first. Then you un-screw the paneling in the front of the wheel well and there you have it. The battery is sitting right there ready for your removal. You have to remove the air cleaner box as well to get to the retaining straps on the top of the battery.

Where is the 01 Chrysler concord input sensor located?

On the driver side of the transmission case there are two sensors that have two wires going to them. The input sensor is the one closer to the front.

Can you put 225 50 R16 on your 98 Chrysler Concorde when your tires on there now are 225 60 R16?

No, if you wish to swap to 50 series tires then you have to go to 265/50-16 which will keep the overall diameter close to the same. You may have clearance issues on the side with this tire. My advise is to stick with the OEM size.

What does the trac button do in a 99 Chrysler Concorde?

Say when you turn with Trac off your motor increases and decreases power from one front wheel to another. With Trac on your motor keeps an equal amount of power to each wheel.

Do you need a new auto transmission if your car gets stuck in a gear?

Try replacing the input and output speed sensors - they're reasonably inexpensive compared to replacing the transmission. See the attached link to the Autozone repair page explaining where they are etc.... Good luck! http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/18/24/de/0900823d801824de/repairInfoPages.htm

99 Chrysler Concorde felt a bump when hit the brakes shortly after car feels like it's being driven w e-brake on but is not i added 1.5 quarts of atf r 4 problem persists is it locked up or something?

If the brakes are staying engaged after pressing down on the pedal then releasing, you either have a leak and the fluid is depleted, or the brake master cylinder is leaking internally or externally. Have the master cylinder checked.

Does the 3.5 engine in the Chrysler concord have problems with broken timing belts?

I've had 4 cars with the 3.5 engine and never had a premature belt problem. Its a very heavy duty belt so I believe if there is a problem its going to be the water pump or belt tension pulley. There is a recomended 100k replacement recomendation on these belts but I had 110k on my 300m with no issues.

How do you get to the battery on a 1998 Chrysler Concorde?

I have found that on my 2002 Concorde, I can turn the wheel all the way to the right as in making a right turn. Then you have access to the battery cover in the front wheel well cover to the front of the tire. You will see vent slots in the cover and there will be I think six hex head screws. Once removed you can reach the battery. But, it is easier also to remove the air filter housing which sits on top of the battery. You can then remove the two bolts on the hold down clamp on top of the battery and slide the battery rearward to reach the negative battery post clamp to remove that cable. The wheel well access cover is difficult to get back in unless you pull the air cleaner box assembly. You can align it much better from the inside of the fender so the screws will go into the fitting holes more accurately.

1998 concord batteryThe battery is located in a compartment in front of the passenger side front tire. Remove the front tire and the 6 to 8 small bolts that hold the cover the battery is in there.
