Explain cocktail and the parts of cocktail?
A cocktail is an mixed drink: It contains at least two or more ingredients. One of these integredients must be a spirit.
Originally a Cocktail was a mix of different elements: water, spirits, sugar and other things. Today everything with alcohol is a cocktail - or a drink.
Drinks akin to cocktails first appeared sometime during the 16th century, but
cocktails, as we know and use the term, was first introduced by American
bartenders in the 1920ies.
The reason the cocktail made it big in the happy '20ies, was the prohibition, when
producing and imbibing of alcohol was made illegal. As good as all spirits available
was of a rather dubious quality and tasted accordingly. Thus, the bartenders,
accommodating as always, started to mix the spirits with various fruit juices and
other flavorings to make it more palatable. Later, the cocktail lost its popularity
most places, the United States being the main exception.
The last few years, however, the cocktail has reclaimed lost ground everywhere,
especially in southern Europe and other places that are full of tourists. Cocktails
usually consist of three different 'classes' of ingredients.
• The first, the base, is most often some sort of spirit, like vodka, whiskey, or
tequila. Occasionally, such as in many punches, some sort of wine is being
used as a base.
• The second, the modifier, is added to bring out the aroma of the base
and to modify its taste. The main flavoring is often such as Vermouth,
various fruit juices, wine, or even eggs or cream.
• The third, the flavoring, is added to enhance the taste of the base, and
often also adds the color to the cocktail. Common special flavorings include
Grenadine, Blue Curacao, and others.
garnish-Most cocktails are also decorated in some way, usually with fruit slices, orange peel, cocktail sticks, mint twigs, etc.

Falernum A rather hard to find ingredient that is used in some Caribbean cocktails, most notably in the Bermuda Rum Swizzle. It is essentially a sweet syrup that is flavored with lime juice, ginger, and other spices. While Grenadine is often used as a substitute, I feel that it really isn't quite the same. For a long time, Falernum had been made by Sazerac Co., but due to apparent lack of sales, they stopped producing it several years ago. To help fill in the gap, Da Vinci Gourmet (a flavored syrup company) started producing a non-alcoholic version that could be used in cocktails that required Falernum. Fee Brothers is also now producing a non-alcoholic Falernum syrup as well, flavor-wise it provides a very similar profile to the DaVinci Gourmet version. Just recently, a brand of Falernum from Barbados is being distributed through "Spirit of Hartford", and comes highly recommended by Dale DeGroff.
You mix two or more drinkable liquids and pour them into a drinking vessel of some kind.
Typically, a cocktail has a liquor component and a non-alcoholic "mixer" component.

This is an impossible question to answer. There are so many variables that will need to be considered. Here in Florida, liquor licenses are issued by county. I have heard of liquor licenses selling between $75,000 and $400,000 depending on location. The terms of your rent or purchase price will have to be factored in. Then there's the cost of an inventory control system, should you choose to have one. As far as inventory, that will depend on the size of your store and whether or not liquor is regulated by the state that you reside in. A typical opening order for a liquor store will cost between $75,000 and $200,000 There are several other factors but I hope this helps a little.
