Why was Vladimir Lenin so significant?

Among all the leaders in the 20th century, Lenin is arguably the most significant person in the world of Russian politics. Exiled by the Russian government for his reformation and radical views, Lenin spent his time thinking and forming up his own government under heavy influence of Marx. Derived from "The Communist Manifesto", Lenin created a system of government that would later impact the whole world. Lenin had created his own political party called the Bolsheviks in 1903. While Lenin was in his own world, thinking about the future Russia, the whole Europe as well as Russia were in the chaos of WWI (from 1914 to 1918). Russia, having lost almost 4 million men to the war, is on the brink of national chaos. Its people were demanding cessation of the war, land reform and an end to shortages of food and goods. The Tsar of Russia, Nicholas Romanov II is overthrown in March 1917 while Lenin was in Switzerland. Germany, taking this as an advantage, sends the exiled Lenin to Russia and encourages him to pursue his ultimate dream of a communist revolution. Why did Germans do it? Because Lenin was against the WW I, and if by any chance Lenin seized power, then Russia will no longer be Germany's eastern enemy. Lenin returns to Russia in April 1917 and immediately begins agitating against the new Russian Provisional Government. In the October Revolution, Lenin and the Bolsheviks seize control of the government from the Provisional Government and take over Russia. He now creates a communist country that is called the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic later to be named the U.S.S.R. (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) and immediately changes the whole Russia upside down. Many Russian people and political parties who had tolerated the Bolshevik takeover now became thoroughly disenchanted by Lenin's ruthless suppression of dissent from his dictates. This leads to the Russian Civil War. Leon Trotsky now in command of the Red Army, defeats the opposing forces known as the White Army and White Russians. Lenin's takeover is now complete.

There were some good effects such as stability but ruthless killing and dictatorship was imminent. Lenin later dies in 1924 after suffering several strokes.

NO. PR China is a Communist Dictatorship. Specifically, it is a LENINIST COMMUNIST STATE. Although the single party in a Leninist Communist State is the Communist Party, the party need not practice Communist political theory. In both China and Vietnam, there is a state-directed, right-wing economic and political theory.

What was the reason for the failure of Soviet-style communism?

Because if it only works on paper then it doesn't work at all. The mistake is in referring to communism as a theory when every test given this theory fails. A failed theory is a bad theory. Bad theories seek to blame reality in order to survive. Communism is not the problem it is the reality of the current situation that is to blame. If only everybody in reality would change and be more like the non reality of communism then communism could finally work. But, blame is irrelevant and if communism can't offer a system that conforms to reality instead of asking reality to stop being reality. Systems like capitalism embrace the reality of greed where communism aks that everyone stop being so greedy. But, reality being what it is, only the workers get to reject greed while those that "take care" of the workers keep on clinging to greed. Systems like capitalism understand the principles of supply and demand where systems like communism ignore demand and control the supply. Systems like capitalism understand that costs are directly related to prices yet systems like communism seek to control prices regardless of costs. Communism hopes to create a gargantuan state in order to suppress everyone in order to protect them from themselves so they can finally be free and then mysteriously claim that once that "freedom" is finally obtained this gargantuan state will just disappear into a "stateless society." The real question is not why communism fails in practical politics, the question is what practical person could possibly believe such mindless fantasy as communism could ever work?

Who sent Lenin to russia to lead the revolution?

So far, the consensus is that it was one of the Warburg brothers. There were four, two in New York, and two in Germany. One of the New York Warburgs made the plans for the Federal Reserve Bank. And one of the New York Warburgs began the campaign in 1919 to raise money for the six million Jewish victims of World War 1. That's right. WW I. According to the New York Times, Jews were the real victims of this war. Six million of them. One of the German Warburgs during WW I was the head of German Intelligence; and it was his idea to send Lenin into Russia to wreck the country and take it out of WW I. I would love to know more details. It is amazing that no-one has studied the German archives to get to the bottom of this.

What kind of values does Communism have?

Communism divides people into haves (governing), and have nots (workers). It is a highly restrictive form of government that does not promote equality nor liberty as many see or wish it to have. Its cost also include the loss of personal liberty, property ownership, individuality, choice, and freedom of speech. Socialism is a step down, though not much better as it also shares some of the same costs, but is less restrictive than communism.

Why did Lenin view religion as a negative influence in the lives of common people?

Lenin is a follower of Karl Marx, who believed that organized religion was a tool by which the bourgeois upper class kept the lower class proletariat controlled. In Marx's own words religion was the opium of the people. In that sense, both Marx and Lenin saw religion just as an oppressor of the working class as the bourgeoisie itself. Another reason is that they saw religion as imposing upon the lower class a system of belief in that which is not verifiable by logic or the senses. This meant that whoever believes in religion is substituting superstition for reason and allowing others to dictate to the believer what to believe and what not to believe.
