After World War II, Stalin was trying to spread communism throughout the world. Pretty much what happened was that he reached China. There was a combination of Leninism and Marxism called Maoism, after the leader of the Chinese Communist Group, Mao. People favored communism over capitalism because their government was not doing very well at the time.

Karl Marx was the first philosopher to develop the idea thoroughly, even though communism, as a concept, had existed since ancient times. Marx called one of his four epochs of history Asiatic. This was the earliest epoch and had examples of simple communism in the form of small tribes in which no one owned individual plots of land, everyone worked for the common good of the tribe and everyone partook of the produce of the tribe equally or as needed.

This is a matter of opinion, however the goals of Communism are good.

Communism as has been practiced has been brutal to civil rights, and self-described Communist dictators have been responsible for millions of deaths. However, many would say that this was not Socialism as described by Robert Owen or Communism as decribed by Karl Marx, which relied on the abolition of class and Democratic control of the government and workplace whereas the four most famous dictators who claimed to be Communist (Stalin, Mao, Castro, and Pol Pot) all practiced Stalinism, where Democracy was only allowed within the confines of party rule, the workplace was controlled by the government, and a bureaucracy ruled as a new upper class with a single incredibly powerful leader.

Some critics of Communism grant that those leaders did not practice Communism, but argue that the Communist economies, while a nice idea in theory, are destined to fail because they lack a "profit motive". There has been much debate as to whether the profit motive is or is not a stumbling block to Communism, and the degree to which it is socially constructed or inherent to the human condition. Albert Einstein believed it could be regulated just like any other urge which was harmful to society, such as murder or rape, George Orwell believed that it would drive the leaders of a Communist society to abuse power for their own gain, creating a new class system as harsh as the old one.

Karl Marx was born on May 5, 1818 in Treir, Germany.Marx was an editor of a radical newspaper and unilinear cultural evolution which treated all human societies. Vladimir Lenin was born on April 22, 1870 in the provincial city of Simbnsk on the Volger river. In his early life Lenin was taught by his parents because they were both teachers.

Yes, but . . . China like other totalitarian states feigns towards democracy. They hold votes (voting is a handy method for decision making) but they have only one party that is available to express one's political principles. If your political principles don't match the party you have no where to go and no one else to vote for.

China is a communist country that is ruled by a dictator, called a Chairman. The government, controlled by The Chairman, owns every media outlet and many manufacturing and industrial firms. The state mandates every aspect of the lives of its people, including even the number of children a family can have. Although China makes American goods available through an economy that is gradually capitalizing, it holds strong non-democratic attitudes and policies towards those who would challenge their rule. Some of these methods include torture of dissidents, illegal arrests and detainments, kangaroo courts, and militant repression of protests. They use police and military to maintain power particularly in Tibet and in other regions which have citizens who would prefer to go their own way.

The red color has been associated with left-wing movements from many years ago, the flags used during social revolts of 1848 in Europe were red. Nowadays, in communist countries, the red color is supposed to symbolize the blood of the workers.

Socialism (safety first & society being more important than the individual) IS becoming more acceptable than the individual freedom of the individual person.

But this should not be a surprise; one of the authors of the Declaration of Independence (probably Jefferson) wrote, "...when America becomes as civilized as Europe, then it will also inherit it's problems...loss of freedom...etc."

Vladimir Lenin's political beliefs have a foundation in Marxism. He carried that belief to overthrow the Russian Provisional government and establish the first phase of Communism, name the dictatorship of the Proletariat. He is not one of these, however, he and Marxist associates decide to rule with great power and work diligently to establish a true Marxist based government in the new Soviet Union.

The main reason that America viewed communism as a threat is because it eliminates the free market. Additionally, communist governments are usually violent and oppressive.

Or Becuz the RICH doesnt like it, becuz if communism is in its full swing, people cannot be ripped off by the ruling elites. (take this 2008 financial crisis as a reference). What will happen next? The ruling elites will divert their attention to take ownership of the real physical economy. Capitism dictates that the fittest win all, and one day every thing will be owned by a single entity, a new astriocacy class will rise and 99% of the population will be enslaved by the 1%. This plan is always in motion without you knowing it, throw a frog into boiling water and it will jump out but if u throw a frog into cool water and rise the temperature slowly and gradually, it will not jump out. That means u all are adapting to the surrounding and think everything is ok. Capitism only give the FITTEST to own thing, don't assume u r fit. When the day come. The first step is that MNC will takeover all the SME pre-2008 (if u are observant enough to realize, shops in the corner were whacked out of existence by 7-11 and walmart). Next those MNC will be taken over by the ELILTES (mark my word in 2009 to 2011). With their resources, they will destroy every startup companies and competitors, making sure of their dominance. By then, its clear you can never own a business so u can only be a working class, but the worst fact is all the business belong to a same boss, so if he offer u usd$1 / week , u either take it or leave it, u cannot quit and join another boss, there isn't any other boss around anymore. Then they will sell commodities at a high cost, u either buy it or leave it, there isn't another seller.

U will become a peon as u are born destinated to be. How great is it? I bet 99% are looking to this blessed simple life. It's a blessing for u, u will work 18 hrs a day and given 3 meals, u have no worries or troubles where to party, don't have to make option becuz someone is making for you. I think this is ideal for the 99% of the population. It will be a utopia + nirvana + paradise.

By then, if u are one that doesnt like a simple life, u may pray u can time travel and begged ur grandparent to support communism. But i for one will prefer the current state not becuz i like a simple life but becuz i happen to be one of that 1%. Juz focus on playing the role WE planned for you. LOL

The basis of Kennedy's foreign policy was and remained the 'containment policy' set up by president Truman in the late 1940s, which held that the communist sphere of influence should be contained to the areas where it had become dominant by then and that it should be (if necessary, forcibly) opposed if Communism tried to expand the territories under its control. Communism took different form in different countries, when Russia was communist it still allowed freedom of religion. In China, they murdered many people for having faith until laws changed in China in 2003. In Vietnam there is still suppression and imprisonment for people of faith.

Many Russians embraced the idea of communism due to the fact that most were peasants. Some of Communism's main beliefs are that one, there is only one class, middle class, two the wealth is to be redistributed, and three that the government owned all banks, transportation, and farms. So to answer the question, they embraced it due to the Second main belief of the wealth being redistributed, meaning everybody would get the same share of everything no matter their contribution to society.
