When was the computer discovered?
The computer was not discovered, it was invented. It was a long process of invention for the computer as we know it today.
First generation: (post World War II) Digital computers were enormous, developed mainly in the U.S. and used vacuum tubes.
Second generation: (around 1960) Computers then used transistors; these were the first successful commercial computers.
Third generation: (late 1960s and 1970s) These were characterized by using integrated circuits and miniaturizing components.
Fourth generation: (1974) The microprocessor chip defined these computers, which resemble our computers today.

This is a very good question, The very first actual computers made were designed to be programmed manually by swiches and tubes being changed very frequently unlike the most recent computers made which can be programmed by software being proccesed by its very own thinking device (the CPU). Was the telephone or the computer created first?
Some of the earliest computers built in the 1940s used electronic circuits and components originally developed for use in telephone automatic dialing exchanges and long distance trunks designed in the late 1930s. These automatic dialing exchanges replaced manual switchboard exchanges that had been used in large cities since the early 1890s. The telephone itself was invented in the early 1870s. However the concept of the programmable digital computer is even older, as it was developed by Charles Babbage in the 1830s. But Babbage's computer was to have been entirely mechanical powered by a steam engine, but as he was unable to get any funding to build it much of his ideas had to be reinvented over 100 years later when vacuum tube based electronic circuits were available to replace the gears, cams, clutches, levers, etc. that Babbage designed his computer around.
