If you get a message The instruction at 0x6c1d591c referenced memory at 0x0000000c The memory could not be read while trying to open E what's wrong?

I have had the same problem, and have gone through hours and hours of computer time trying to fix it.

As far as I can see, there is no fix. Microsoft has a patch that claims to fix it but it doesn't.

Mine happens when I try to close a folder in explorer.exe, especially a desktop shortcut folder.

I use Ghost and rewrite my C drive (all my files are on D drive), every few weeks or so. The error ("referenced memory...could not be "read"") comes back at amazingly consistent intervals after the Ghost restore process, leading me to belive that it is independent of what I do or new programs I install or anything like that.

Nothing seems to work, and it seems Microsoft doesn't know either.

Any help would be appreciated as well.
