LEDs create light by electroluminescence in a semiconductor material. Electroluminescence is the phenomenon of a material emitting light when electric current or an electric field is passed through it - this happens when electrons are sent through the material and fill electron holes. An electron hole exists where an atom lacks electrons (negatively charged) and therefore has a positive charge. Semiconductor materials like germanium or silicon can be "doped" to create and control the number of electron holes. Doping is the adding of other elements to the semiconductor material to change its properties. By doping a semiconductor you can make two separate types of semiconductors in the same crystal. The boundary between the two types is called a p-n junction. The junction only allows current to pass through it one way, this is why they are used as diodes. LEDs are made using p-n junctions. As electrons pass through one crystal to the other they fill electron holes. They emit photons (light).
Is a real studio or a Digital Audio Workstation better?
Digital Audio Workstation or DAW is nothing but a computer installed with software's and hardware's which enables it to record and edit audio. All Studios have DAW's these days cause everything is recorded in digital with really powerful computers. So to sum up you need a really acoustically treated studio to record sound so you need a studio which has a DAW.
How is machining different from hand sewing?
In hand sewing, there is one thread that goes back and forth in the fabric. This is a very slow process, because the stitches need to be very small in order to function at holding the garment together and getting through the 100 washings minimum that will be expected. Hand sewing was abandoned for garment construction for the most part as soon as the sewing machine came into use.
In Machine sewing, two threads are used which interlock in the middle of the fabric. Seen in a cut away, they would appear to be a figure eight.
Machine sewing is used for almost all applications, due to the speed and strength of the stitches.
Possible exceptions are when an area is too small and awkward for the material to be completed by machine, such as sewing closed a stuffed animal, or for custom projects like suit jackets, in which the hand is much more effective at keeping threads from pulling and distorting the fabric by applying too much tension.
its a wall plug attached to 2 coat hanger wires and you put it in the mud plug it in and worms race up to the surface. its really dangerous go to http://www.wormshocker.com to find out more...
In the UK can you put a 5 amp fuse in a 3 amp plug?
In the UK, you cannot put a 5 amp fuse in a 3 amp plug. The general rule of thumb is that you should use like for like.
While I do not yet have a final answer for you, I have found that Dick Smith Electronics (commonly known as DSE and based in Australia) went out of the physical "brick and mortar" store retail business back in May 2016. Since that time, they have set up as a website that does only Internet sales of other manufacturers' products. However, I also found that they have an email address for customer support for DSE-brand products sold before entering into receivership and therefore have sent an email to them to find whether I can get the manual for you. Once I have more information, I will be sure to let you know.
Update: It has now been a week since I typed the above information and it seems that the company is not wishing to provide an answer. Therefore, it seems that I will be unable to obtain any further information or a PDF version of the manual for you. If you wish to have an answering machine with full capability that you can access, you might consider purchasing a new answering machine from a company that is still in business.
What is the Use Of Timer Control With Suitable Example?
A timer device could be used to switch on your central heating an hour before you arrive home from work. And switch off just after your leave for work in the morning. So saving electricity while the house is empty.

What are the best headphones to take on the road for blocking outside noise?
The Bose QuietComfort 2s are the best I've tried...but they're pretty expensive.
How do you measure core loss in a transformer?
Core loss is also called "No-Load" loss. To measure the core lose simply you need variable AC supply, Wattmeters, Ampere meters and Voltmeters. The basic principle to perform this measurement is to supply the transformer with its nominal voltage and then record the Watt or Kilo watt values. You will need precision current and voltage transformers to supply your wattmeters, voltmeters and ampere meters. There is a term called "Form Factor" which should be measured in order to identify how sinusoidal is your supply voltage and based on the value of this Form Factor you need to apply relevant corrections to the measured values. For power transformers normally we record no load values between 90% and 110% of rated voltage. Based on the test circuit configuration you may use "2 or 3 wattmeter" arrangements for 3 phase transformers. For further information you can check out my website at www.eonce.com and if you need more information you can simply fill the form in "Contact" page on the website. Hope this helps. B.M. Mirzaei, P.Eng.
Universal Serial Bus. USB was designed to be the standard replacement for old RS-232 serial devices and for PS-2 serial ports. It was well named; nothing in the world of computers has deserved the term "universal" as well as USB does.
The DVD is the work of many companies and many people. DVD evolved from CD and related technologies. Some of the early proposals for "high-density CD" were made in 1993, and these efforts gradually coalesced into two competing proposed formats. The MMCD format was backed by Sony, Philips, and others. The SD format was backed by Toshiba, Matsushita, Time Warner, and others. A group of computer companies led by IBM insisted that the factions agree on a single standard. The combined DVD format was announced in September of 1995, avoiding a confusing and costly repeat of the VHS vs. Betamax videotape battle or the quadraphonic sound battle of the 1970s.
What are transistors used for?
Transistors have two basic functions: # an electrically controlled electric switch # an electrically controlled "proportional valve" which can alter currents and voltages, or can amplify electric signals.
Transistors can also be configured as Oscillators which provide an AC signal with constant frequency. Either an amplifier circuit or a switching circuit can be wired as an oscillator.
Transistors can be used to form logic gates: And, Or, and Invert. Computers are made from logic gates, so computers can be made entirely from transistors.
Transistors are in use in virtually all electronic devices. PC processors are composed of millions of tiny transistors. A transistor radio may have had only 6-10 transistors to enable operation. A late model car may have 10 to 15 computers comprised of thousands of transistors to perform all manner of operations in the vehicle.
What are hair straighteners made of?
just kidding...
No really im serious.
Can a battery charger simultaneously charge the battery it is using?
Generally, yes, although it depends on a number of factors.
A general way to answer your question is through demonstration: do cell phones (which run on rechargable batteries) charge while on? I've never seen one that doesn't, and the same applies to laptops. As long as the apperatus can be plugged in while battery is still in use, it probably can.
Which are the states that use nuclear power for electricity?
Rather than type out a long list, I refer you to the NRC website, see below
How many hours can be recorded with a DVD Recorder single layer disc?
21 mins on a mini, 2 hours of good quality mpeg4 encoding, 4 gig disc Actually you can have up to around 8 hours on a single sided single layer dvd. It really depends on the compression codec and quality used. Mpeg 4 isn't not widely used in dvds. MPEG2 is commonly used and can be conpressed enough to fit around 6-8 hours but the quality does suffer. Two hours is generally considered the max for "DVD Quality" picture. MPEG4 could probably fit more video but most DVD Players will not play MPEG 4
all electricity is natural, due to the fact that electricity is a force of nature. you may be referring to "voltage" which is the difference of charge we sometimes create in order to get work out of electricity, a "synthetic" example would be the 110V at an outlet i suppose, while a natural example would be lightning, or the shock you get from touching a door knob after dragging your feet on carpet.
