Why did bluetooth named 'bluetooth'?

Bluetooth was named after a late tenth century king, Harald Gormsson, viking king of Denmark and Norway. He was nicknamed "Blatand" which translates into Bluetooth. It was believed he had a tooth and gum disease which caused the discoloration of his teeth.

Additional Answer:

Bluetooth® is named for Tenth Century Danish king Harald Blåtand, known in English as Harold Bluetooth Gromson, who is reputed to have been so fond of blueberries that his teeth were stained blue.

And some more info:

It was named this as the king was most known for his unification of two warring tribes from Denmark and Norway. So, just as King Bluetooth connected these two previously warring tribes so does the Bluetooth technology with two electronic devices

Blue tooth were due to the blue colour of his crown he used to wear frequently.

Who invented the Walkman?

D cell battery cause electric shock?

No, as D cell battery does not have enough power to shock you.

*edit

D Cell batteries don't have enough VOLTAGE to shock you.

They have plenty of power (Power = Voltage*Current) to shock you, but first you'd have to use a circuit to increase their voltage to thousands of volts. This would decrease their current proportionally and keep the power level the same.

Car batteries for example have tremendous amounts of power, but it's in the form of massive amounts of current (number of electrons flowing), the Voltage (intensity of the electrons) is only 12 Volts, which is still safe.

How many amps in a stun gun?

The voltage of an average stun gun can vary, but it typically ranges from around 50,000 to 1,000,000 volts. However, it's important to note that voltage alone doesn't determine the effectiveness of a stun gun. Other factors, such as current and duration of the electrical discharge, also play a role in its effectiveness.

What is meaning of cell phone error pps 6180?

This is an automated message from some cell phone providers such as AT&T, Cingular and several others that lets the caller know that the number they are trying to reach is either out of service range (in an area without coverage), disconnected, or temporarily unreachable for another reason.

If you're sure you're dialing the right number and you know the person hasn't changed their number, try calling back at a later time.

Are laser pointers illegal in Western Australia?

As far as I can see there was a movement for them to be outlawed in Western Australia but I'm not sure if it was accepted and that they are now illegal. So If anyone can answer my question I'd be much abliged as I'm looking into buying one. Usually laser pointers with a power < 5mw is less dangerous for human eyes. And the laws in most countries don't forbid 5mw green laser pointers and 5mw red laser pointers. The laser pointers with IR filter is even better. You can choose beamq low power laser pointer.

If three 6 volt batteries are connected in series the overall voltage in circuit is?

Regardless of the number and value of the resistors, total voltage drop in a series circuit will equal the voltage rise, or the applied voltage. Apply 6 volts to three series resistors and the sum of the voltage drops will be 6 volts. No mystery here. Think it through and it will lock in. To get you ready for more "advanced" analysis, Kirchhoff said the algebraic sum of the voltages in any closed loop is zero. Going all the way around a series circuit, we'd encounter the battery, and all the series resistors. The battery is a voltage rise, and the resistors are voltage drops. The polarity of a voltage rise is opposite that of a voltage drop. This means that when they are added algebraically, if they are equal, they will sum to zero. Work this with a battery connected across a single resistor to get a handle on it. You'll need the ideas to manage calculations in loops of parallel circuits. Remember that in any closed loop, the algebraic sum of the voltages is zero.

Who invented the copy machine?

Chester Floyd Carlson developed the process called xerography, working for a time with a hired assistant, Carl Miller.

The copy machine was not invented, it was developed using the xerographic technology as its core principle. The team that developed the first plain paper photocopier were the engineers of The Haloid Corporation and its President, Joseph C. Wilson.

How do you Stop automobile AM Radio ignition interference?

As a minimum, the engine hood needs to be electrically bonded to the car body. This is usually done with a short length of flexible copper braid that clips to the sheet metal of the hood and the sheet metal of the car body. Additionally, the 12VDC power supply to the radio should incorporate an electrical filter to prevent electrical noise from entering the radio via its power connection. Third, the antenna cable from the radio to the antenna needs to be shielded and the shield must be in good condition, with no breaks from the radio chassis to the point where it connects to the external antenna.

Although electrical generators have been largely supplanted by alternators, old cars that still use generators need to have filter capacitors added at the generator output to trap high-frequency brush arcing noise. Also, the breaker points in old car ignition systems are frequently the source of electrical popping noises in radios, and that can be reduced with the capacitor that is normally bridged across the points. If an alternator produces a whining noise in the radio, it often indicates one or more failed rectifier diodes in the alternator. In that case the diodes should be replaced, or if the rectifier diodes are build into the alternator, the alternator should be repaired or replaced.

Better radios will incorporate additional electrical filtering and voltage regulation of their power supply internally, and will use circuit designs that minimize sensitivity to power supply noise.

Who invented cable internet?

No one did it was just improved many times and was called high speed.

Does being an astronaut require certain math skills?

Imagine you're on a spaceship in orbit around the moon. You have a fuel leak and are running out of power. When do you fire the ship's thrusters, and for how long and in what direction, in order to be able to return to Earth safely? Obviously, this is not a question that astronauts usually face (except maybe on Apollo 13) but hopefully it illustrates the way in which math (in this case, calculus, algebra, etc.) and science (in this case, the physics of orbits), which has math at its heart, relates to everything that goes on in a space flight mission. All the science and engineering that goes into designing, building and flying spacecraft is based on math - without math, there would be no way to predict beforehand how the spacecraft would react to different conditions and how it would move in its orbit. I imagine that astronauts probably don't directly use much more than simple math when on a flight - important calculations are done by computers - but to have some idea of what a spacecraft is doing and how it is operating, without placing complete blind faith in the people who built it, requires a knowledge of math. Also, in addition to flying and maneuvering a spacecraft, astronauts are often involved in conducting scientific experements aboard the spacecraft, which would involve math in other ways too.

What are the positive effects of tourism in society?

Tourism can cause the people of a nation to have pride in their history and attractions. On the other hand, it can cheapen the experience of living in a great city.

How do you draw logic gates?

Depends on the types of logic gates you're drawing. They have different symbols. You should be able to search the web for a list of symbols for the various gate topology. Using smartdraw tool, you can drag and drop such ready made shapes.

Corel draw graphic suite is another such tool.

What year was the blimp invented?

How does an ink jet printer work?

there is a print head has nozzles to draw ink from cartridge and spray on the paper cartridge is placed on the print head holes are placed exactly on the nozzles.

There are various technologies involved, depending on the make.

The ink is supplied at the nozzle by internal pressure from within the cartridge, or by gravity.

The ink is fired onto the paper by an electrical pulse. This impetus is provided either by rapidly heating the ink drop, or by piezo crystal resonator.

As the print head moves back and forth across the paper, the picture is printed line by line.

How fast do light waves travel?

Light in a vacuum is represented by a constant known as c=2.99792458 m/s. Otherwise I can recommend two books called general relativity and special relativity both written by our very own Albert Einstein.

What causes static in speakers the speakers are fine but the tweeters put out static?

Static coming from some but not all speakers is usually caused by a loose connection at that speaker or a loose speaker itself. It can also be cause by a wire with insulation worn off, and touching a body part.
