Why would cylinder 2 3 not fire on a 1992 ford ranger 2.3l 4 cylinder?

Hi,

Offhand, I can think of a couple of possibilities immediately. The first would be a collapsed hydraulic lifter, preventing a valve from opening. Maybe a bent push rod (between the lifter and rocker arm).

If it's a lack of spark, it could be the ignition coil. Chances are that you have one coil for every two cylinders, or the control for the coil not delivering the proper pulse.

The spark plug wires are usually made with a carbon conductor and possibly one or both leads have breaks in them, but that'll usually just cause a weak spark or even the wires could be reversed and firing when they shouldn't.

That's, `off hand`.

Hope it helps,

Cubby

What is the most important disadvantage of using biometric devices to authenticate a person for access to a system?

Error rates are a possible candidate for most important disadvantage, though to varying degrees depending upon the specific authentication method. Higher sensitivity authentication methods increase the likelihood of false rejection, whereas lower sensitivities increase the likelihood of false acceptance.

The error rate of any given biometric authentication device can be broken down into the following categories:

  • False Acceptance Rate - FAR
  • False Rejection Rate - FRR
  • Failure To Enrol Rate - FTE/FER

Being erroneously denied access to your banking information might be preferable to erroneously allowing someone else access, but neither scenario is desirable. Few systems with less than a 1% error rate are currently in existence.

Providing multiple/backup authentication methods increases the likelihood of an exploit or vulnerability, compromising security by trading FER for FAR/FRR.

In short, False Negatives and False Positives are the most important disadvantages.

How many square feet does an 15000 BTU air conditioner cool?

I currently have a 5k btu air conditioner and I've found that it'll do well to cool a single room, providing the doors are closed most of the time. To expect much more from it as far as cooling wouldn't be realistic.

One of the purposes of an air conditioner besides cooling, is to also remove humidity, and if you use it in a larger area, it'll help some, but you can't really expect a lot of cooling from the unit. It'll also run the compressor continually and the electric bill will probably be quite a bit higher.

How do you beat the gap of rohan in Lord of the Rings 2?

You first kill all the nubered orks then go up the hill and when the elphants close shoot the crossbow missle and keep hiting it till it dies. Then when its on the other side keep doing the same thing until you face the nazgul and ring wrath use legolas and shoot it with arrows until it dies but try to kill the orks that are charging at you while your firing at the nazgul then the dead will finish it for you then your done that's it

What are the relationship between Diode voltage and temperature?

The equation relating diode voltage and current is: Id = Is*(exp(Vd / n*Vt) - 1) Where: Id = Diode current Is = Saturation current exp() = exponential function (e^) n = Ideality factor Vt = Thermal voltage The relationship between temperature and diode voltage comes from this Vt, the Thermal voltage, which is defined as: Vt = k*T / q Where k = Boltzmann constant (8.617 * 10^−5 eV/K) T = Temperature in Kelvin q = Elemental charge (1.602 * 10^−19 C) Thus, the temperature affects the thermal voltage (an electrostatic voltage across the PN junction), which affects the diode's Id and Vd properties.

Which one weighs more a charged or a depleted battery?

Battery mass is not designed to deplete over time. However, some older and serviceable water filled lead batteries did require periodic fill. In these batteries the loss of water would affect mass. Modern and sealed batteries should and will not change in weight.

What does Cc mean in e mails?

carbon copy

Before copy machines were common, if you wanted several copies of a letter or memo, you would put several sheets of paper into the typewriter with carbon paper between the sheets. Then, after typing the item once, you had the original plus several carbon copies. Today, it is used to indicate a person or people to whom a memo or e-mail is being sent but to whom it is not addressed.

Disadvantages for shopping on Internet?

E commerce stands mainly for Electronic commerce. It is refereed to be the buying and selling of product or service over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. It draws on such technologies as mobile commerce, electronic funds transfer internet marketing etc. Every aspects serves its advantaged and disadvantages. Similarly eCommerce has its disadvantages of its own. They include:

1. Any one, good or bad, can easily start a business. And there are many bad sites which eat up customer's money.

2. There is no guarantee of product quality.

3.There are many hackers who look for opportunities, and thus an eCommerce site, service, payment gateways, all are always prone to attack.

4. Mechanical failures can cause unpredictable effects on the total processes.

How does negative feedback work?

To remove the distortion ...

ANSWER: It does not reduce distortion but rather make the circuit stable. There can be distortion even with negative feedback by bad design in other word feedback does not reduce distortion.

What is power op-amp?

An operational amplifier, which is often called an op-amp, is a DC-coupled high-gain electronic voltage amplifier with a differential input and, usually, a single-ended output.[1] An op-amp produces an output voltage that is typically millions of times larger than the voltage difference between its input terminals.

Typically the op-amp's very large gain is controlled by negative feedback, which largely determines the magnitude of its output ("closed-loop") voltage gain in amplifier applications, or the transfer function required (in analog computers). Without negative feedback, and perhaps with positive feedback for regeneration, an op-amp essentially acts as a comparator. High input impedance at the input terminals (ideally infinite) and low output impedance at the output terminal(s) (ideally zero) are important typical characteristics.

Op-amps are among the most widely used electronic devices today, being used in a vast array of consumer, industrial, and scientific devices. Many standard IC op-amps cost only a few cents in moderate production volume; however some integrated or hybrid operational amplifiers with special performance specifications may cost over $100 US in small quantities. Op-amps sometimes come in the form of macroscopic components, (see photo) or as integrated circuit cells; patterns that can be reprinted several times on one chip as part of a more complex device.

The op-amp is one type of differential amplifier. Other types of differential amplifier include the fully differential amplifier (similar to the op-amp, but with two outputs), the instrumentation amplifier (usually built from three op-amps), the isolation amplifier (similar to the instrumentation amplifier, but which works fine with common-mode voltages that would destroy an ordinary op-amp), and negative feedback amplifier (usually built from one or more op-amps and a resistive feedback network).

What is a biometric device?

Broadly, a "biometric device" is any device that measures a biological function or trait. As related to computers, biometric devices are used to control access and/or verify identity. Voice recognition, retinal scanners, palm/fingerprint scanners are all examples of biometric devices. A biometric scanner will take a picture (your fingerprint, your retina) and match it to a previous scan kept on file. Other types of biometric devices, such as voice recognition systems, will record your voice and compare the recording to a sample on file.

Compare and contrast series and parallel circuits?

In a series circuit, there is only one path for the current to flow through. In a parallel circuit, there are multiple paths for the current to flow through. For example, most old Christmas lights are series circuits. If one light in the whole strand of lights went out, then all the lights would go out. This is because once one resistance is out, the circuit is no longer complete, so the current can not flow. An example of a parallel circuit could be your household lighting. When you turn on your kitchen lights, your bathroom lights don't turn on with it, do they? That is because it is a parallel circuit. In a parallel circuit, there are multiple paths for the current. It doesn't matter if one light is on and another is off because the current can go through another way. In a series circuit as you increase resistance, the voltage and current decrease. In a parallel circuit, as you increase resistance, the voltage and current increase. Think of a series circuit as a one-lane road. The car would be the current, the gas in the car would the voltage, and the traffic lights would be the resistance. Since you are on a one-lane road, as you keep stopping at traffic lights, you aren't going very fast or far. Now, think of parallel circuits as a multi-lane road (or highway). The car is the current, the gas in the car is the voltage, and the traffic lights (or closed roads, or accidents, anything that would slow you down on the road) are the resistance. When you are driving and one road is closed, you don't have to stop because you can continue driving and go on a different road to reach your destination.
