i have changed inner and outer tie rod ends on my 1998 dodge avenger...it's not as complicated as you think. but, if you're unsure than your safest bet is to take it to a mechanic. This is a part that can save your life and needs to be done right. The parts are cheapest through ebay, trust me on that one! Also, take a look at your control arms(ball joints) most of the time if you need to change out your tie rods, you have another problem. First, you need to jack the front end up at least a foot over clearance of your body. . . removing your wheels only one side per exchange, by the way, always replace both sides and not just one, cheaper on you on the long run, after removing tires, look in-behind the brake caliber, near steering stablilizer and you will see a 1 foot long part, connected by pendage joints, that's your exchange piece. you will have to possibly manipulate your spindle position in order to pull the safety pin before removing rod off of it. always remove outer before inner that way you can spin your rod clockwise of you removal position for better clearance with your wrench. Yes, that's it, real simple and install is just as easy...just make sure you do an alignment asap and have them check your rod positioning, they won't charge you for this because it is part of the process anyways.

this is for a 2.4 ,you have to get under the car and its located directly across from the rear engine mount on the crank you will have to remove 2 bolts from the heat shield(looks like thick aluminum foil) to get a good view but you will see the 2 wires running to the sensor tight fit but not bad.

First you need to check and make sure that your transmission fluid is full. If it's not, then it won't shift correctly, or at all. If it is, then there are three possible reasons that I can think of. First is that the bands in the transmission have gone bad. The other reason could be that the odometer is bad. The trans requires readings from it to make sure that it shifts at the right times. For example, with mine it would only work in reverse and 2nd gear. Or the relay sensor went bad. It's located right above the vacuum booster.
