Can a dodge nv4500 bolt in place of a nv3500 on a half ton?

Yes and No, You would need the proper bell housing, and if it's 4wd you would need to adapt the transfer case or get a different one. The NP231 was generally behind the 3500 and the NP241 was behind the 4500. The 4500 has a bigger output shaft with more splines so that would be the challenge. A lot of people switch the 231's input shaft with one from the 241 but this requires some machining. It's possible but not a direct bolt in.

Why does a Chevy 350 have good oil pressure but does not get any oil to the top of the motor?

There are a couple possibilities: the head gasket has been re-installed wrong (good candidate), the cam bearing has turned, or there is a blockage of sludge or other material in the oil line.

How do you tell which engine size on a 1975 Dodge D100 Adventurer?

First check the distribitor and see if it's in the front or back of the motor. If in front it's either a 383, 400, or 440; if in back it's either a 318 or 360. More than likely it's 318 or 360 on those trucks. Also check the bottom of the engine block on the driver's side just above the oil pan to make double sure.

If all Dodge motors have the same firing order how do you distinguish between let's say a 318 and a 360?

You would look on the right hand side of the block just below the cylinder head. There you will find the engine block serial number, within those numbers you will see either 318 or 360.

Do you use a gasket sealer on a gasket for water inlet?

I am going to assume that by water inlet, you mean thermostat housing. If the new gasket is a paper like material then by all means do so. Don't over do it, just a ultra thin coat on both sides to make it stick to the surface of the housing and /or engine. If it is paper like with a rubber o-ring inner flange than no. Final note, ensure that you purchase the correct tube of permatex (High Temperature) the back of the package will state (water pump/thermostat).

Do they make a 1986 d100 four wheel drive pickup truck?

No. The D designation in the model means that the vehicle is 2WD. If you're looking for a 4WD of the same vintage, the model code would be W-100.

How do you get the ignition cylinder out of steering column without the key?

First take a flat bladed screwdriver. Approximatley 3 inches long. Then insert into the ignition. With some force (but not too much) take medium sized hammer and hit the end of the screwdriver (but remember not too hard but you should hear a little cracking sound) that means you broke the detent which normally holds the key in the ignition. Move screwdriver in a up and down motion to release the spring tension. Then give screwdriver three more hard taps with hammer. You should hear what sounds like a spring drop into the steering column. A pair of vice grips and remove screwdriver from key slot. Get what is called a Chinese slide hammer (just ask for at your local parts store) screw into ignition slot. With a good amount of force slide the hammer back several times and the ignition cylinder should break free.

Trust me I have have used this technique several times and it works like a charm.

Your 85 Dodge 318 looses oil pressure after warm up?

i just took an 85 d150 with a 318 apart and the number 4 main bearing cap was cracked completely in half but still together like a puzzle piece. it didn't even nock but it lost oil pressure after warm up and the oil got dirty real fast after it was changed. i went to the junkyard today and pulled a number four main bearing cap off of a 1990 d150, everything matched up perfect on the crankshaft and bearing side but the cap was taller which would add strength to the cap where mine broke... idk if it is going to work in mine but i would think that if they changed it in 5 years it would be because that was a common problem.

How do you remove a slant six engine?

same way you remove any engine, unbolt from the trans, unhook wiring, undo motor mounts, take the radiator out, hook up cherry picker or block and tackle, and pull the engine out.

i used 2 chains, bolted to the engine mount bolt holes on each side, and the other chain, one end to the alternator bracket bolt to front of block, and the other end to the last bolt on the exhaust manifold

Why won't the 4 wheel drive won't engage on my 1994 blazer s10?

The s10 4 wheel drive systems are vacuum activated and most problems with engagment can be traced to 3 possible culprits - leaking vacuum lines, faulty transfer case vacuum switch (part # 89059420) or faulty vacuum actuator (part # 25031740) which usually is located under the battery tray. These are all relatively cheap to replace. If you have push button engagement (on the dash) listen for engagement at the transfer case when the button is pushed. If you don't hear it, you may have a problem with your Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) (a small metal box under the dash) or your Transfer Case Encoder Motor which is mounted on the side of the transfer case. The encoder motors are more expensive but can be purchased on eBay and elsewhere. There are ways to test/troubleshoot both the TCCM and Encoder motors but might not be advisable unless you're pretty mechanically inclined. Good Luck!

I have owned a 1994 S10 4x4 Blazer now for 6 Years, It seems every time I have some stupid problem with it all I have to do is "REBOOT REBOOT REBOOT" JUST LIKE ANY Computer today it seems to work on most this crap you read about on these trucks, when the 4x4 won't engage or when it wont disengage, the very first thing I try is pull the + positive cable off the battery and hold it to a ground to dump all the power from the system (IT RESETS EVERTHING) and to date this method has never fail me, try it you can't hurt anything and it could save yourself a lot of time and money.
