1. You are negotiating a contract with a potentially very large customer whose representative has hinted that you could almost certainly be assured of getting his business if you gave him and his wife an all-expense-paid cruise to the Caribbean. You know the representative's employer wouldn't approve of such a "payoff," but you have the discretion to authorize such expenditure. What would you do?

2. You have the opportunity to steal $100,000 from your company with absolute certainty that you would not be detected or caught. Would you do it?

3. Your company policy on reimbursement for meals while traveling on company business is that you will be repaid for your out-of-pocket costs, not to exceed $60 a day. You do not need receipts for these expenses-the company will take your word. When traveling, you tend to eat at fast-food places and rarely spend in excess of $15 a day. Most of your colleagues put in reimbursement requests in the range of $45 to $50 a day, regardless of what their actual expenses are. How much would you request for your meal reimbursements?

4. Another executive, who is part of a small planning team in which you are a member, frequently has the smell of alcohol on his breath. You have noticed that his work has not been up to standard lately and is hurting your team's performance. This executive happens to be the son-in-law of the company's owner and is held in very high regard by the owner. What would you do?

5. You have discovered that one of your closest friends at work has stolen a large sum of money from the company. Would you: Do nothing? Go directly to an executive to report the incident before talking about it with the offender? Confront the individual before taking action? Make contact with the individual with the goal of persuading that person to return the money?

The agencies of socialization that can affect your morality include family, education, peers, and media. These elements can shape your values, beliefs, and sense of right and wrong. Family plays a vital role as it is where children first learn about morality. Education further reinforces moral values through formal instruction. Peers influence morality through social interaction and peer pressure, while media can shape moral perspectives through its portrayal of ethics and values.

I believe so, but it's hard to say. We cannot necessarily predict exactly what will happen in the future in that sense, but if people think hard about what is morally right there is a high chance.

The most significant modern proponent of virtue ethics is often considered to be Alasdair MacIntyre. MacIntyre's book "After Virtue" is a seminal work in contemporary virtue ethics and has had a significant impact on the field. He argues for a return to Aristotelian virtue ethics and criticizes modern moral philosophy for lacking a coherent framework for ethical decision-making.

When someone is being unethical, it is important to assess the situation and consider the potential impact. If it is safe to do so, you can try to address the issue with the person directly, providing them with an opportunity to rectify or explain their actions. If the behavior persists or has serious consequences, you may consider reporting it to the appropriate authority or seeking advice from a trusted advisor or mentor.

Identify two ethical principles that should guide technical communications. Explain each of the principles you chose and provide an example of why each is important.

Goal-Based principles help guide every technical document. There is a good and bad to everything in life, we all strive to pick the right and paint the picture accordingly in each document or paper we write. This is the goal of every writer. In technical writing think of it as picking the right way to describe your point or explanation to meet the goal of the reader understanding how to do it or why it is correct.

Duty-Based principles are the principles that do not bend on altering the truth or using information that is not yours without proper citations. I'm sure when writing we have all mistakenly not cited our sources the proper way, this is a mistake, but if done on purpose this is against our duty-based principles when writing.

Implementing a strong code of ethics and formal policies that define expected behavior and consequences for unethical actions would likely encourage ethical behavior in a business. Additionally, providing regular ethics training to employees and modeling ethical behavior from top management can also help foster a culture of ethics within the organization.

Yes. Because less intelligent people usually wind up in menial jobs where they get less respect or in which they are exploited. They wind up in a situation that creates frustration and frustration leads to evil.

It is not only advantageous to have moral principle but it is an absolute necessity if one wants to make a moral decision.One cannot make a moral decision if they do not have moral principles or ethical view in the first place.

The type of thinking demonstrated in this scenario is respectful and inclusive thinking. It acknowledges that different individuals may have different perspectives or opinions, and it recognizes that everyone has a right to express their thoughts and beliefs. This type of thinking promotes open-mindedness and encourages dialogue rather than trying to invalidate or dismiss others' viewpoints.

If moral standards are disregarded in a society, it can lead to various negative consequences. Trust and social cohesion may deteriorate, resulting in increased conflict, crime, and corruption. The lack of moral standards can also erode empathy and compassion, causing a decline in the overall well-being and social harmony of the community.

Bilingual refers to the ability to speak and understand two languages fluently. A person who is bilingual is proficient in both languages and can switch between them as needed. Being bilingual can provide individuals with many advantages, such as increased job opportunities and the ability to engage with different cultures.

Killing someone is morally wrong and against the law in most societies. Taking someone's life goes against basic human rights and the value we place on human life. There are alternative ways to resolve conflicts and seek justice without resorting to violence.

The work ethically means to work with one's ethics in mind. Since most humans eithics include telling the truth, keeping others in mind, and such, working ethically means to work with these qualities in mind.

In the Texas Administrative Code there is a Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators. The National Education Association has a code of ethics for teachers. The Association of American Educators has a code of ethics for educators

When you accept responsibility for things, that is how you learn to be responsible. If you never learn to be responsible how can you never forget homework or be diligent with the tasks you are assigned?

I won't go into all the details here, but some of the things they have been accused of is of selling unhealthy products, unethical market strategies, and others. I leave it to you to research the details, and decide whether they actually did something unethical.

Some legal issues with regard to Internet use have to do with copyright, hacking and privacy. Ethical issues are moral issues regarding use of the Internet and there are many. Some ethical issues are pretending to be someone else, Internet bullying, stealing personal information and using resources without permission.

It is important because when using the Internet and or email everything is traced, and can be tracked. Therefore if unethical behavior is used it could be used in evidence against you, which in turn could cause you many problems later down the road.

Ethics are the set of moral principles and values. it sensitize us to moral issues faced in the workplace. we know that engineering profession can affect public safety. it can make dangerous mistakes. ethics learning is important for not to make those mistakes. it helps one to learn to avoid issues before they arise and recognize that they are grey areas governing our behaviours.
