If the set up is the same as a 96 with a V6, and i believe it is. The fuse is not located on the alternator. Next to the engine block closest to the firewall there is alittle 2 inch plastic black box. Inside is a large 175 amp fuseable link. If this is broken, your alternator and battery will check out good, but the alternator will not charge your battery. Its not the hardest job to do, but because of the location be prepared to put aside about an hour for cursing the Ford designers for what looks like an attempt at hiding it. Just be carefull and disconnect the battery until your finished just incase. Im not sure if this is the fuse your talking about, but i believe it is. This answer may work for those who are having trouble keeping a charge if both the alternator and battery are fine. This fuse is pretty much an antisurge protector and the line it is connected to is the main charging line from your alternator to your starter and back to your battery.

It's located just behind the car's radiator, on the top left. It's covered with a small black plastic cap that screws off. Don't confuse it with the high pressure port: that one is on top of a tube to the right of the radiator. The low pressure service hose won't connect to the high pressure port unless you really force it, so if your service adaptor doesn't fit the port easily, you're probably on the wrong one!

Answering my own question here, it's what I thought it was. One of my high beams was out, so my high beam indicator was flashing when my headlights were not turned on. As for the daytime running lights, they came back on when I changed the bulb.

First of all, you don't want to try to do it by running the engine. This will cause foaming of the fluid, distributing millions of little air bubbles throughout the system! Instead, follow the following procedure:
- Disable the ignition system. (I also like to remove the spark plugs - it helps the engine crank faster and easier.)
- Raise the vehicle until the front tires are just off of the ground and safely support it on jack stands.
- Fill the power steering pump reservoir.
- Crank the engine for 30 seconds without turning the steering wheel and recheck the fluid level. Add fluid if needed.
- Crank the engine for 30 seconds while turning the steering wheel lock to lock. Hold it just short of the lock stop for about 5 seconds. Check the fluid level and fill if needed. Do this three or four times, allowing the starter to cool 5 minutes or so between crank cycles. This will also allow any foaming to settle down.
WARNING: Do not hold the steering wheel against a stop for more than 5 seconds, as damage to the steering pump could result.
- Lower the vehicle.
Restore the ignition system.
If this doesn't completely bleed the system, repeat. If you still have air in the system, you'll probably have to take it to a shop and have the system bled by the vacuum pump method
It will fit, just press the lower A-frame further down than what you are doing now. I used an anchor bolt to draw it down. It is difficult, but once done, no problem. The next answer might be correct if you are talking about actually changing the entire strut assembly yourself, i.e. take the spring off. Don't do that! However, if you are only going to replace the unit as an assembly then there is no problem. This Is Dangerous, You Need A Special Press To Change Struts.Buy Them Where They Also Change Them, Or Better Let An Alingment Take Care Of This For You. Rotate Tires & Get An Alignment While You Are There Also.

I have a 1999 ford contour and just replaced the front driver window regulator and motor the other day. You need to take off the inner panel of the door by unscrewing all areas. You will probably have to unscrew the 4 bolts to the window regulator (which is the cable that moves the window up/down when you run the window motor. The motor is connect to this). There are 3 screw to the wind motor connect to the door frame to be unscrewed (middle right side of doorfram by speaker). The motor just unscrews from the regulator and screw the new one in. Go to a salvage yard for the part (I paid $10 at a U-Pull-It salvage yard for the regulator and motor vs $118 at Auto Zone).
