Aprox 6-9 Mpg depending on how deep you press that shiny little pedal on the right..

I have heard of some people getting 15 mpg on the highway.

15 mpg is about right on the open highway,

I just bought another one of these cars, the first trip I tried was about 14.80 mpg. Now I am going to replace the carb with a new HOLLY and see what it does, If it drops I will go back to the old one. It also helps having a K&N air filter that is a little too tall for the air cleaner so the top of the filter exposes 1/2" above the housing so the engine breaths better.

According to my Chilton's Auto Repair Manual :

For a 1970 , 429 cubic inch V8 ( 5th digit of VIN is a " K ' or an " N " )

The ignition timing is 6 * BTDC

Also, consider whether or not you have the AC turned on.

Probably either the relay sticking or a bad (or unplugged) engine coolant temperature sensor.

If one is rusted you might as well replace them all and that requires removal of the engine

I am assuming the "multi-function" switch is the TURN SIGNAL/HI-LO BEAM/WIPER CONTROL SWITCH. It is located on the left side of the steering column.

It is a recall. You should take it to a ford dealer. They will take care of it.

If you are paying someone to do it: a 1994 Thunderbird SC V6 3.8L will cost about $1,800 if you live in Southern California. If you are doing it yourself: parts will be about $800.

Ford only calls it the 390 - they don't indicate a liter size ( it would be almost 6.4 L )

when you changed the soleniod, make sure you get the wires back in the right spot. the soleniod has 2 studs sticking out on it, but it should only have 1 wire that hooks up to it. if you got it back on the wrong post, it wont turn over

The 1993 Sable uses the old OBD l PCM (powertrain control module). It is located under the dash behind the glove compartment. If you are removing the PCM the electrical connector is on the firewall inside the engine compartment. There is a small bolt in the connector that you loosen as the connector is being pulled out. If you are looking for the diagnostic connectors, they are on the passenger side near the firewall, in the engine compartment.

Look under the hood, if it has a supercharger you'll see it, SC thunderbirds have badging on the fenders saying it also.

but for quick answer find an empty parking lot cause it will reset all remotes in 60 ft area

check online before u do it but turn ignition key to on without starting

then off back on serveral times maybe 10 until doors unlock press button on remote should reset it check online before u do this

I had an 1990 with jbl system (factory) in it there was one in the fuse box under the dash and one under the hood in the power dist.box 5 amp hope this helps

The transmission from a 3.8 motor will usually fit a 2.3 engine but will require a different flywheel and mounting point. Other small changes like linkage and the filler tube will need to be addressed.
