GMC Envoy

On my 2002 Envoy, the oil filter is located up a little further and to the right of the oil drain plug (crawling underneth the vehicle from the front). On my 2005 (4.2L), it is located under a hinged cover fastened by two screws. You cannot see it unless you open the panel. Its a little tight under there so you may have to jack the truck up from the passengers side (and don't forget the jack stands and wheel chocks for safety).

1) Erase all your codes in the Homelink memory by pressing the two side buttons for 20+ seconds until the Homelink light flashes quickly. 2) Press and Hold your wireless garage door opener and the HomeLink button you want to program until the Homelink light flashes quickly. This will setup the Homelink opener temporarily. 3) Located and Press a scan button on the Garage door opener. Now press the button on the Homelink that you selected a few times (usually 5-8 times) until the garage door opens with the Homelink. Now its permanent. - I had this problem myself. I didn't have the wireless garage door opener so I used my keypad outside my home to program the HomeLink.

it only takes about ten seconds all you need is a quick release tool from any parts store and push it in the line and pull the line out there is two lines then just put the new filter in the lines it should clip in and you are done it is located in the drivers frame rail near a crossmember some will have a release on the line at the filter that looks like a tire valve stem push it in and release pressure before you start. if you do not find it near the crossmember and the abs module in the drivers frame rail then it is in the tank and unserviceable.

The fuel filter is a 12 dollar part. The lines connect to it by clips. If they are plastic lines(black) then they aren't fixed, but need replacing and can be costly. If it is metal then easily fixed. Being a 2004 then I would think there shouldn't be any quality of line issue unless it was damaged somehow. There may also be o-rings on the fuel filter, not sure, you'll have to check, where the lines come together. Maybe not, but check the connections first. That's the most likely spot of leakage.

Two comom reasons

1) bulbs are burned out

2) wiring harness has burned out. unfortunatly a common failure on these trucks. See if the wires are melted or crispy. This also pops the fuse.

To remove the shroud off of a 2002 Envoy, grasp the shroud on the left side and pull down. Listen for a snap, this is the retaining clip releasing. Pull down on the right side. Once the right retaining clip releases, the shroud is ready to remove.

Reduced engine power may be many things but the reduced engine power will also throw a trouble code. Get that information to diagnose your problem. If the check engine light is on steady it is usually OK to drive however if it is flashing you must shut the engine off. A rich running condition will cause your catalytic converter to overheat and melt.

Use the crank under the rear seat for the jack. It goes into a hole you will see when you lift the rear tailgate offset onto the passenger side.

Try unplug'n the battery for 5 minutes, that should do it, if not an OBD(ON Board Diagnostic tool) is needed.

how about turnin your switch on with engine off and pressing the gas peddle 3 times then turn switch back off

The sensor is located on th eexhaust manifold just above where the exhaust pipe joind the manifold. If its been on for a while, you'll probably need a torch to get it out.

There are 3 O2 sensors on the GM pickup in 97. They are all heated (means they are more expensive and are 3 or 4 wires). There is one on each side of the motor, just below each manafold, and then there is one after the converter (both sides combine at the converter). The converter is located on the passanger side of the truck, at about the main front pass door.

Sorry but majority of these trucks actually have four, depending on the exhaust system design, but most 96 to 99s have four, two per side, two being upstream (before converters) and two being downstream (after converters)

Autozone or checker sells an A/C recharge kit provided your car is equipped with a R-134a cooling system. You can check under the hood near your emissions label, which should be by your radiator cap.

Along the top of the motor covered by individual coil packs. Careful removal of the coil pack retaining bolts is a must as they are long and thin. You must remove the resonator box from the top of the motor area (Vortec4200) in order to see what you need to see.

i own one and well I got better mileage by changing the air intake to a custom one, setting tires to proper pressure, using 89 octane gasoline, i would get 13 in city but after i did this, it gives me like 18 city, 25 high way
