How do you replace vss on gmc pickup?

Located on the tail of the transmission usually on the drivers side is where the vehicle speed sensor is located. Look for a round plug fitted in a hole on the casting that has an electrical socket and is held in place by a single 10mm bolt and small bracket. Unplug the wires at the connector by gently prying the latches away from the plug and gently pull plug out of the connector. Be careful not to damage the two seals on the outside of the plug and secure the wire out of the way. Remove the 10mm bolt. Carefully pull or pry the speed sensor out of the casting. Replace the broken sensor, install the bracket bolt, and plug in the wires.

Where is the fuse for the power seats in a 2004 GMC Sierra?

There is not a fuse. There is a 25 amp circuit breaker in the lower left corner of the interior fuse box. It is rectangular, and silver in color. If you are having the common problem of the driver side seat not working, in conjunction with the seat heaters not working and the passenger window not working, the problem is likely the wire harness connector under the drivers seat. Its near the left rear of the seat, and gets kicked by people getting in/out of the back seat. It also moves a lot when the seat gets moved constantly. (I'm 6'1", my wife is 5'2"). I ended up jumping the connector for the heavy gauge power (orange wire) and ground (black wire) with quick disconnect couplers. The repair lasted over 1 yr, but I now find myself fighting with it again...Bad design on GMC's part. I will probably replace the entire harness this time through, as I absolutely LOVE my Quadsteer and am not ready to get rid of it. Especially over a silly little wiring issue.

How do you remove the radio from a 1992 GMC Sierra truck?

remove the bolts for the dash and then put the pickup in first gear so you can pull the dash out to give you enough room to unplug all the wires then unscrew 4 bolts on the radio (2 different size bolts) then pull up really hard on the radio and at the same time pull towards you (or out). if you want to change the radio your going to have to splice the wires because this year pickup didnt have a plug in radio

How do you split tranny and transfer case on a 2000 gmc serria?

The transfer case is bolted to the rear of the transmission in the same place that the tailshaft would be if it were a two wheel drive. When the transfer case is removed the area that was connected to the tranny will NOT be a protruded area. In other words the transfer case housing is not an appendage sticking out. Be careful niot to get transmission fluid all over you when you separate them. It is a bit messy.

How do you change the front rotors on a 1996 GM Chevy Sierra?

Changing Disc rotors on a 88 - 97 GMCIt is very simple. All you have to do is remove your tire. Then on the back side of your brake caliper there are two screws you will need a 3/8" Alan wrench or equivalent. After that you can simply pull the caliper off of the rotor and then slide the rotor off. If you do not want to bleed your brakes then you can simple take a 3" C-clamp and tighten the caliper back. This will allow you to put new brakes on your new rotor without bleeding the lines.

Where is the heater fan resistor located in a 1999 GMC Sierra?

The 99 - 02 800 series uses a resistor to adjust blower motor speeds. On my vehicle the blower only runs on 4 and 5. The part number on the installed resistor is: 15305077 The latest GM part number is 89019089 (it was 898018597) and cost $47.46 including tax from the GM dealer. Aftermarket about $20 from parts store. The resistor is on the passenger side hidden by a formed plastic kick panel which attaches by 3 hex head screws. The size is 8mm and a deep socket is recommended for one screw in a rather annoying location. This one resides in a deep cavity opposite of the tranny hump. Once the cover is off, the resistor is easy to spot on the right side of the heater/AC box. Has a multiwire connector going in and on the back side two wires out to the blower motor. The screws on 99 and 01 are 7/32" and gold shaded. To get at the blower motor connection one has to remove the blower motor shield. And of course one of the two screws is in a blind location right next to the firewall. Both screws are again 7/32". I found that one could take off just the front screw and with a long thin blade screwdriver disengage the snap lock on the blower motor electrical connector.
