The success of 3D television is not yet fully demonstrated. It is still an emerging technology and observers have yet to confirm that it is indeed successful. However, consumers are buying 3D models because it represents the next step forward in television technology and no doubt will continue to do so.
The choice between active and passive is subjective. Active systems use a full resolution frame and cuts the image rapidly between the left and right eye. Some viewers report that they notice flickering with this system. Others do not see any flicker and it depends largely on the model and manufacturer. Passive systems split the screen into alternate lines so each eye sees only half of the total number of lines. The resolution is effectively reduced to 540 lines (compare this against the 480 or 576 lines of standard definition television). The problem of flicker is avoided at the expense of the lower resolution.
So, which is best? That is a matter of opinion and the only way to decide is to see both technologies and decide which offers the best image and most comfortable viewing.
Why is there no sound from the speakers in a 1995 Toyota Avalon?
Either the sound settings are messed up, or you have blown speakers. First before buying speakers, try playing with balance and fade.
Unfortunately, the answer I have for you is quite obtuse. Without seeing VERY good quality photographs, or actually seeing the reel in question, it's impossible to put anything like an accurate value on the real. Even after examination, a valuation would be, at best, an 'educated guesstimate'. In real life, the reel is worth either a/ what someone else is prepared to pay for it b/ the price you would need to pay to replace it (which may well depend upon exactly how badly you want to replace it!) Both of these are affected most of all by the condition of the reel itself, and value is usually enhanced, often disproportionately, if the original box, case, spares, documents etc are present. A while ago, I sold a similar reel via EBAY (sort of) for a price well in excess of anything I expected. A little searching on there for reels of the same type (amongst the completed listings) showed me the prices the reels had been selling for. It was apparent to me that mine was far superior, and I had noticed that a (Japanese) buyer was bidding frquently on such reels.
I contacted him with details, he asked for a price for me to sell at. Quandry ... as I still had no real idea. So ... I put on a price that I thought I'd be happy with, then added a further 25% (figuring that he would probably try to negotiate). Still not sure why, but at the last moment, before sending the email, I doubled the price ... and he still said YES without hesitation!. Could I have got more? Possibly. Was I happy to still sell at that price? At more than twice the highest I had in mind? Take a guess:-)
The PJD5112 is compatible with HD signals, but is not a HD projector, nor is it capable of 3D. Its maximum resolution is only XVGA (about 860 pixels high), less than half the number needed for a 3D display.

What does the contrast ratio on widescreen TVs mean?
The contrast ratio is a measurement of the range of brightness can display. Theoretically, the higher the number, the better the image. A high contrast ratio means that whites will be brighter and blacks will be blacker than a lower contrast ratio. It has become an important feature because early LCD and plasma screens had a very poor contrast ratio compared to the older CRT televisions. Modern displays have largely overcome the problem and ratios of 5000 : 1 or more are quite common. However, a high contrast ratio doesn't always indicate how well the screen will display dark grays and near whites. Therefore, the real test is to look at the screen to see how the image looks. A good screen will show lots of detail in dark areas and light areas. A poor one will tend to show less detail and dark areas may show up as blacks rather than a range of grays. To make it very simple, if the picture looks good, then it is good, regardless of the published performance data.

2" of foam is not very vapor permeable, so from that point of view it makes sense to have it on the inside of walls in cold climates, and people did used to do this in the eighties, but all the current literature says that foam must be used on the outside, with a more permeable vapor barrier on the inside. See BUILDERS GUIDE TO COLD CLIMATES by Joseph Lstiburek.
What should you never do to a beam of a projector?
Don't look straight into the beam of a projector. If you attempt to look towards the projector lens, you would immediately want to avert your eyes - this is called an eye aversion response. This is just as well, because if u didnt look away you could over-expose your eyes and cause photochemical damage to them.
A four way speaker is one which has four different types of active elements, each one suited to a specific part of the audio spectrum. Thus, it would have a 'woofer' for low bass notes, a low midrange speaker, a high midrange speaker, and a 'tweeter' for very high frequencies. A 'cross over network' inside the speaker divides up the signal coming from the amplifier, and directs the different parts of the signal to the appropriate driver, or element.

What should I know about entertainment projectors?
I'll guess that the question is referring to a future purchase of a projector and make a few points to check before buying: 1 Does the projector support the resolution you want to watch? If you are looking for HD, then make sure it's a 1080 line NATIVE resolution. Many support 1080 signals but don't actually have 1080 lines - that means a loss of quality 2 Make sure the brightness is sufficient for the room where it will be used. The higher the light output, the brighter the room can be while you are watching. 3 Do some research on the reliability. Some manufacturers make more reliable kit than others and you probably don't want to be taking it back to the store 4 times each year. Does the manufacturer's warranty offer a replacement swap out or not? 4 Lamp life and lamp cost should be considered. Some projectors can be expensive to run, with high cost and short life lamps. 5 Most important - Does the picture look good when you see it? Use material that you will be viewing at home. If it doesn't look good to you, then the projector is no good for you. Remember that other people's opinions on the image quality are no substitute for your own eyes.
What is the output power of home theater speakers?
The output power of home theater speakers can vary by a significant amount depending on which speakers are owned. It can range from 30 watts to 150 watts.
Why would a surround sound system click snap or pop?
This could be several problems. To figure it out have you tried playing multiple media's through? Such as watching television programming, a DVD, a Blu-Ray, a CD, a radio station, etc... You may not have all of these hooked up through your receiver but switching up the media may give you a difference. If you are hearing the pops and snaps through just one, such as when you watch DVD's, then it would be the signal coming from the DVD player. To further investigate switch up the DVD's to see if it's just on movie or all of them. If not and you are getting these sounds on everything you play through the receiver than check that your speaker wires are connected properly (not loose or touching the other connector) then check that the wires themselves haven't been compromised (hard crimpes in the wire, split wires [I had this problem and I found out my cat was eating a wire] or if you fastened a wire in place with nails, staples, etc that they aren't going through the wire) if you have wires going under the house or through the attic then checking these is key, even though it's probably a pain in the ass. Replacing these is cheaper than a new system. If your sure that all of the above is good and in top shape than try to determine where the sounds are coming from. Are they coming from one speaker or all of them? Typically if you have blown speakers, which can make this sound, than it wouldn't be all of them unless you just had a party and one of your guests cranked it up and messed around with it blowing them all. If you hear it from one than try switching the speaker with another to see if it's the signal it's getting or if the speaker is blown. If your getting these sounds from all of them than your receiver may be in need of servicing or replacing.
