1990 honda accord sports drive edition-sports drive has been disconnected for years yet still causes problems here and there. i cant get car out of park unless i put key in shifter key slot put in neautral then start it other wise cant put it in gear,couples times as driving it shifted and down shifter all on its own and other times it wont go into 4th but i do have to manually shift. any ideas besides torque convertor or tcm (tansmission control module) i was thinking could be trani filter however if it were- the car wouldnt be stuck in park or shift on its own occasionally

Parts will be in the $95-$155 range. You will need one gallon of coolant, a couple of hose clamps, water pump, and water pump gasket.

it will be on the front lower left side of engine below p/s pump.

I think you could definitely get her up over 110. I had a 92 Mazda 323 with a cheezy 4-banger and I hit 120. I was going downhill though. If you have the wind and terrain to your advantage, you can do it for sure. Don't kill yourself.

Replace the fuel filter before proceeding. That may be your problem. It may also be a fuel pump failing, especially if the fuel filter is clogged. A clogged fuel filter will ruin an otherwise good pump. Can also be a defective fuel pump relay.

You fail to list the year and engine size which would really have helped. WARNING: The Honda Accord 4 cylinder up to year 2002 is an interference engine and if the belt breaks serious engine damage will occur. It is critical to replace the belt. Also the timing belt drives the water pump so replace the water pump at the same time to save labor costs later on when the pump fails. The life of the pump is about the same as the belt. 2003 and up Honda Accord 4 cylinders do not have a timing belt but instead have a chain. No maintenance is required on 2003 -2009 Accord 4 cylinders. My 2004 accord runs great however 2 or three times it has skipped at highway speed. Is something going on I should be aware of.

Depends on the belt some belts last 75 so last 100 some last 50 if your running the oem belt 100,000 is good time to change i go about 75,000 i would rather be safe than sorry that belt breaks its going to demolish most of the valves and maybe the head

This is a typical concern for this year. The wires break in the wire loom behind the flip up head light. You have to dig the wires out and repair them. Over the years of the headlight going up and down it usually breaks the wires where they pivot.

I SUGGEST THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES.

1) JUST UNPLUG THE LIGHT GREEN CONNECTOR UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT (HAS A METAL COVER COVERING BOTH THE BROWN AND THE LIGHT GREEN THAT U NEED TO LIFT SO AS TO REACH THE LIGHT GREEN CONNECTOR).

2) THEN START YOUR CAR AND U WILL NOTICE THE RETRACTOR THAT GOES ACROSS YOUR CHEST WON'T GO UP AND DOWN.

3) PLUG IT BACK AND START YOUR CAR SO THAT THE RETRACTOR GOES TO ORIGINAL POSITION WITH THE DOORS CLOSED.

4) UNPLUG IT FOREVER

5) NOW U HAVE TO UNBUTTON AND BUTTON UP YOUR SEATBELT BUCKLE THAT GOES ACROSS THE DRIVER'S AND THE PASSENGER'S CHEST MANUALLY AND U SHOULD BE ALL SET TO GO.

NOTE: I SPENT $80 DOLLARS ON THIS PROBLEM AND COUNTLESS ARGUMENTS AND 4 TRAVELS TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT NOT SOLUTION AND WENT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THE BUCKLE REPLACED BUT NOT SUCCESS. I FINALLY CHECK ONLINE AND WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO FIND THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM FROM THIS POST:

The automatic belt control is under the passenger seat. It also has the warning beeper. If the belt is not all the way retracted to the driving position, you can put it there. There is a wrench (mine is in the compartment with the spare tire). It has a knobby handle and a small hex shaped bit that fits into it. In the doorpost behind the passenger seat and at the bottom of the post is a small button. Snap this button out and insert the wrench into the key inside the doorpost. You can crank the belt into the driving position. When the belt buckle is there and the belt is fastened to it the buzzer should silence. That is as far as I am with my own 90 Accord, but I am going to get much deeper into this problem soon. Steve

OKAY So the first person to answer your question was a total loser. Now, lets move on. The old saying that beauty is only skin deep is true no matter how someone looks. I don't know what kind of spots you have: maybe freckles or small moles or whatever. Some spots can be removed by a dermatologist. Freckles are easily covered with light make up. You should look up a picture of Elizabeth Taylor. She was once considered to be the most beautiful woman in the world even though she has a large "beauty mark" on her face. Regardless, other people don't study your face as much as you do and probably don't notice the things that bother you the most and , no matter how pretty someone is, if they are a jerk sooner or later that beauty won't matter. What you have on the inside is what will carry you through life. By the way, the sexiest woman I ever knew was actually over weight. But she felt sexy and because she felt that way it worked for her.
