British nationals can obtain a 30-day visit (tourist) visa on arrival. These may be extended by 30 days on two further occasions (to a maximum of 90 days in total) if you apply to an Immigration Office. There is no fee payable for this initial arrival visa, nor for the two extensions to this visa.
British nationals can also obtain a 30-day work visa in advance at a Honduran Embassy or upon arrival if they are conducting short term internship or voluntary work. This also may then be extended by 30 days on two further occasion by applying to an Immigration Office. Each extension, up to the maximum of 90 days in total, will cost US$20.
Should you overstay your visa then you shoud expect to pay a fine either upon departure from the country or at the Immigration Office when you apply to extend you stay.
Currently the minimum fine you will be required to pay is Lempiras 1623 (or US$90 approximate equivalent), but this may be more depending on the number of days you have overstayed your original visa.
Central America Border Control Agreement
Honduras is party to the Central America Border Control Agreement (CA-4). Under the terms of this agreement, British tourists may travel within any of the CA-4 countries (Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala) for a period of up to 90 day, without completing entry and exit formalities at border Immigration checkpoints. This period begins at the first point of entry of any of the CA-4 countries. Fines are applied for travellers who exceed this 90-day limit, although a request for an extension can be made for up to 30 days by paying a fee before the 90 days limit expires (giving 120 days in total). If you are expelled from any of the four countries you are also excluded from the entire CA-4 region.
Travelling with children
Single parents or other adults travelling alone with children should be aware that some countries required documentary evidence of parental responsibility before allowing lone parents to enter the country or, in some cases, before permitting the children to leave the country. For further information on exactly what willbe required at immigration please contact the Honduran Embassy in London.

What are the plants and animals of Honduras?
From southern Mexico, south of Mexico City, all the way to Northern Brazil, that whole portion of Latin America is an enormous, and very dangerous jungle system. The flora and fauna found in Central America is generally the same as that of the Amazon. In fact, sometimes caiman, alligators, and crocodiles have been seen in the ocean, swimming from Honduras all the way to south america. The crocodillian family, are very strong swimmers, they can float well in the water and they eat all their meals in the water, and they will even eat sea creatures. Now in case you are wandering who would "win" a fight, yes, sometimes the crocodilles or whatever DO get eaten by great white sharks. Sometimes even orcas will prey on them. Hey, when a predator is hungry, sea or land, its hungry..... There are some species of primate, that are unique to Central America, as well as certain species of bird that you only find in given regions. For example, Northern Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia, Ecuador and parts of Peru, all have different varieties of parrots and tucan. Also no, none of them look like Tucan Sam. Unique to Guatemala, a bird that I think is virtually extinct now, if not outright extinct, is the Quetzal, the bird whose tail feathers Mayan chieftains used to use for their headdresses. In Mayan myth, the Quetzal was their equivalent of the Chinese Phoenix; like the Pheonix, the Quetzal was atributed all manner of magical powers. Also, Central America, the whole of Central America is I believe home to 20 different species of venomous snakes. The Honduran jungle alone is so dangerous, you can not travel out there without a guide. In fact, it is so dangerous, it is the favorite training ground for U.S. Navy SEALS, and Green Berets, among other special forces. Additionally, from the 1960's, Israel has used the jungle to train its spec ops soldiers; my own father was sent to Honduras and, although I don't think he was a spec ops "bad*ss," he DID work as an engineer there. Probably shouldn't share but; I was Honduran born, of misrahi Israeli extraction. Middle eastern Jew, born in Honduras. Yup..... I'm quite "exotic" like that. You may use the word "exotic," I call it bad luck; the ashkenazi that live in Honduras are not the nicest people, although I won't get into details. So, why does Israel use Honduras for jungle training? Many Palestinian terror cells, believe it or not, hide in African Muslim countries, and whenever Mossad needs some of them dead, they need to send special forces soldiers that specialize in jungle warfare. Because the jungles of Central America are in fact even more dangerous than the ones in Africa, Central America makes an ideal training ground, which both the U.S. and Israel use, that is how my folks ended up in Honduras. Again though, I don't think my dad was a "bad*ss" like the character Leon S. Kennedy; be cool if he was, but, sadly he was just a nerdy engineer........ Even so, the relationship between my dad and I (personality wise) is similar to that of the anime characters Goku and Bardock; like Goku, I am a carbon copy of my father, however also like Goku, I'm not "tough" like my dad is. Between Goku and Bardock, Bardock is the "tough" "manly" one, its the same with me and my dad; I'm a sissy compared to him. If my dad is an Israeli born Iraqi Jew believe me, personality wise, likely he's every bit as tough as the character Bardock. [[User:67.148.120.72|67.148.120.72]]stardingo747
