People in ancient times, just as today, used to do research by inspiration in works of people they had faith or agree on.

I always say that literature is one of the best things a man could ever make, and this is because of "intertextuality".

The term intertextuality as Jennifer Straw and Dr. Clarice Stasz from Sonoma State University stated, is "the multiple ways in which a text is entangled with or contains references to other texts..."

By writings you can figure out how the author´s psyche is, the level of knowledge he or she possess, how the author tries to convince you of ideas, in which authors he or she relies on, in which other authors she or he disagrees, the author´s cultural capital, and so on.

The majority of people (obviously not immersed in Linguistics, Psychology, Literature, Pedagogy) doesn´t know that reality, and because of the lack of awareness, they miss almost the whole package and doesn´t know what the author really has to offer.

In actual times, where almost everyone has access to the world of information with just one click away, the effect in people not immersed in those areas, specially young people as me, is getting lost with the lack of information devices and mass media about 50 years ago and so on.
