Well you really cant, its set by the computer, using information from all of the sensors. If it does in fact have to high an idle speed you need to find out what is causing it, most likely a bad sensor of some sort.

It may fit, but it is not plug and play. The computer and trans systems are different.

As you stand in front of your Jeep, the radiator drain plug sticks out the bottom of the left side. With a large gathering container on the floor, loosen the drain plug with an open-end wrench (or more suitable tool if you have one) only until the coolant flows through the spout, it's made so you don't have to (or want to) completely remove it. Now empty, you can either use a flush-N-fill kit, or if you're on a budget, run water at moderate pressure through a garden hose at the radiator cap opening for 20-30 seconds and let it drain. Tighten the drain plug and refill with a good mix 60/40 or whatever's best for where you live. [Take care to refill slowly - even though OEM radiators are supposed to purge air pockets, I had already installed a new aftermarket radiator and didn't want to take any chances. Air pockets can cause cooling system malfunctions and engine damage in a general sense, I'm not enough of a technician to list specifics.] Good luck !

transmissions are tricky, this problem could be as simple as a missing or loose part, to a bad transmission alltogether. But either way, it will most likely have to come out and be fixed, rebuilt, or replaced. The only way to relly know is to take it to a specialist, theres no way around that. and changing the trans fluid will not help but it may have the wrong fluid in it also which can make it slip. im only a level 1 auto. tech. but i hope this helps you

Trac-Loc axles require a friction modifier to be added. Crawl under your GC and look for a metal tag under one of the bolt heads that says to use the friction modifier. You will likely have to wipe the tag off to read it. My tag was at about the 4 o-clock position on the rear of the differential. Do you have the factory tow package? I believe limited slip diffs were part of this package. Open the hood and you can get behind it with a long screwdriver. Simply pop it toward you by prying with the screwdriver. You'll see that it is simply mounted on 3 metal ball tipped shafts that press into the plastic housing. There is an electric motor that drives a geared pulley which is attached to a sliding bracket attached to the window. Most of the time the cable jumps off due to dry or binding window/channel. There are rubber spacers in the gear attached to the motor that deteriate in the heat and crumble. You can buy a new gear kit and replace it.

This is usually due to a binding that happens when the rear wheels have turned at a different speed than the front due to turning left or right. the shift lever could be bent or dirty needing cleaning and lube, or you could have low fluid level in your T-Case. If you have the vacume type shifter in your front end, a line may have a leak or fallen off. The vacume unit on your front end if you have one may be bad and need either cleaning or replacement. Yes, the only significant changes is that the 1990 didnt have airbags and the 1995 did. There will also be slight wiring differeneces but nothing that will stop you from taking parts from one and putting it on the other. Pretty much all jeep parts are interchangeable. I've seen a 88 with a 96 motor. and my 91 xj limited has seats from a later model grand cherokee.
