What event ended the transportation of felons?
The transportation of felons effectively ended with the passage of the Penal Transportation Act of 1857 in Britain, which formally abolished the practice. This decision was influenced by changes in public sentiment, the impracticalities of transportation, and the growing opposition to the conditions and treatment of transported convicts. Subsequently, many convicts were instead sent to local prisons or placed on probation. The decline of transportation marked a significant shift in the penal system, moving towards incarceration rather than exile.
Is quitting your job over the phone good or bad?
It is considered good practice to give a written two-week notice or letter of resignation in person. In many cases, failing to do so will put you on a do not hire list and you will not be eligible for re-hire. This may also mean that you would not get a good reference from the company.
It is always best not to burn bridges, so to speak. You may think that you wouldn't want to return to your job but may later realize that you need to do so. To be put on a do not hire list is not good for your career.
If you must quit over the phone due to circumstances, I would suggest stating that the circumstances are the reason why and that you will follow up with a letter of resignation in person, if possible.
Do architects have health and dental benefits?
Like any profession, some do, some don't. It's up to the owners of the company.

What is it like to work at lush?
They were an amazing company to work for. I was a Christmas temp at Lush Liverpool for the end of 2008.
They are all about their employees and giving good training. Well informed employees are happy employees! They support you as you learn the vast product line and the ingredients involved.
They treat you like a human being, and not just a hired employee. The often refer to their employees as family! And that's exactly how I felt.
When I worked there I was on part-time at £5.73/h, which is minimum wage. Hours went up as the store got busier closer to Christmas. You also get a healthy employee discount on the products (excluding gift boxes).
(The wage is now about £6.35, it's 25p above minimum wage for all employees and higher for london)
Homework has always been in schools it just wasn't known as homework
Homework was invented after the Industrial Revolution - before that, there were no schools the way you know them. Rich kids could afford to have an education and they usually had their own teacher. Regular kids went to work around age 6-10, either in a factory or as an apprentice to someone who taught them a job.
Is precision coin grading reliable company?
I bought some of these coins and initially left favorable feedback - I now know that I was ripped off.
"Precision Coin Grading" (www.precisioncoingrading.com) is operated from the same Sydney, NSW address as the main eBay seller of these coins - I checked the domain registration details of the company and it was the same as the return address of where I received the coins from. It is essentially a con - many of the coins appear to be cleaned, polished or simply over graded. The seller claims not to have graded the coins himself, but why are the coins coming from the address of the grading company?
Other collectors are onto this - see http://coinauctionshelp.com/Coin_Help_Blog/2009/11/03/new-grading-services-at-ebay-warning-pcgmgc/ as an example.

For many supervisors, their relationship with people who work for them could be a lot better. A recent study by faculty members at the University of Florida said that more than half of the employees found their supervisors untrustworthy, not good role models and too free to share confidential information. This is indeed a severe indictment. Poor supervision is often seen as a factor in high turnover, and increasingly employers are holding supervisors accountable for turnover amongst their direct reports.
Supervision is about nurturing employees. It’s about being committed to making them successful rather than waiting for them to make a mistake. Supervisors need to have a clear and specific idea of how we can support the individuals who work for us. Just as we have a specific plan to maintain a service or process, good supervision requires a road map to get us where we want to get.
Supervisors are responsible for technical skills and attitudes or habits.
Generally speaking supervisors are better at dealing with technical skills than they are with habits and attitudes; that is why habits and attitudes are responsible for more terminations than the technical skills of the job. Which takes us to the Ten Commandments…since if followed, the supervisor will be more successful at changing attitudes and habits.
As a supervisor, you must recognize that your job now requires that you help the company achieve their goals through the cooperation of other people. You may have been really good at making clay pots, but that is not your job now. Instead of the technical skills that were required in making those pots, you now need the people skills which build loyalty and motivation. As Dwight Eisenhower is quoted as saying, “Leadership (including supervision) is about getting other people to do what you want them to do because they want to do it that way.”
Do your supervisors really supervise or just collect a bigger paycheck? We can develop the skills of supervisors; they can learn to be better supervisors. Subscribe to our newsletter to learn more about what we do. Click on the link below to subscribe. Why need a structure padding in c?

How you solve a problem at work?
There are a few steps to be taken to avoid wasted effort:
* Determine if the problem occurred before. If the solution was successful, apply it again. If the solution was unsuccessful treat as a new problem. * If the problem is new and appears to be a once only effort or not likely to reoccur, do a causal analysis and determine the root cause and fix the root cause (Fire someone, put out the fire, kill the dragon, etc.) * If the problem is reoccurring or continuous, do a root cause analysis, fix the immediate problem and initiate systemic changes to prevent the reoccurrence of the problem A few don't:
* Don't cover over the problem for this time e.g. no tape on cancerous moles * Don't pretend it didn't happen or won't happen again * Don't just fix the immediate cause (go to the underlying or systemic cause)
Can someone on a fiance's visa get a job without a greencard?
Once that person marries and the papers for the greencard are filed, s/he can file for a temporary work permit.
Yes. A fiance' visa alone is automatically eligible to work. I myself was under the fiance visa. You need to get an SS first which can be tricky because theres a lot of SS employees who do not understand the concept of the K1 visa holders being valid to work. ( I had to research a memo from Immigration and print out to show them). The k1 visa is only good for 90 days so I suggest that once you get here, you get married ASAP and file for AOS (adjustment of Status) EAD (employment authorization document) and travel parole (optional). Once your K1 visa expires, you are technically not eligible for work, unless you get your EAD before it expires, which I strongly doubt. It took me 6 months to get my EAD, 7 months to get my AOS and 8 months for my AOS interview ( where I got my greencard).
What is an internal candidate?
Internal candidate is someone who already works for the company. This term is typically used when an employer is considering filling a position with someone who is already an employee, i.e. "The position is no longer available as we've filled it with an internal candidate." If you're applying to a company, you would be an external candidate.

What are examples of accuracy as related to jobs?
A hitman would aim for the heart or brain.
A stenographer would be able to transcribe court proceedings with few (if any) mistakes.
A software engineer would be able to design and implement an extensible, relatively bug-free, solution the customer could use.
Basically, accuracy for any job means you do a good job meeting your job objectives.
