180 series john deere riding lawnmower.how do you remove the rear wheels?
Remove the plastic center cap(pry or pull off)
Remove the C-clip from the axal(or snap ring)
Pull off wheel.
Do not loose the little steel key that fits in the slot on the axal and inside the wheel.
To replace:
replace wheel on axal
Line up slot in wheel with grove in axal
Slide in little steel axal key in grove
Replace C-clap or snap ring on axal
Drive off down the road..Thats it
Brake adjustment John Deere LX173?
There is a bolt near the rear of the mower that faces the rear right wheel. If you can press the brake while looking by the rear wheel, you'll be able to see where the bolt is. It is toward the top, front of the the right rear wheel. All you have to do is tighten the bolt a little and you'll have brakes again.
Where is the voltage regulator located on the john deere gt275?
On my GT275 it is located up inside the firewall with two carriage head bolts.
If you are standing on the left side of your mower with the hood up (hood to your left hand), look to your right and you will see a panel in front of the steering wheel it will have a bundle of wires going into it. The regulator is mounted backwards so your hand will have to go up inside to remove it. The regulator is about 3" inches square. its a small aluminium box with cooling fins on it. I found a replacement from a Kawasaki web site for $47.00. John Deere wants $147.00. Easy to replace if you can use tools.

Took mine apart. The two long thin keyways on the brake shaft were broken. Buy only one, as they come as a set. You will have to remove the whole thing from the tractor and basically rebuild the unit. I would replace the wheel bearings, seals, keyways too.
