Yellow Journalism: Journalism that embellishes or exaggerates stories to gain reader.
What came to be known as "yellow journalism" was false or exaggerated reporting, or stories that were intentionally biased. Yellow journalism began in the late 1800s, and it was meant to scare the public, or to push them to believe a particular idea-- such as that a certain group was dangerous and needed to be prevented from emigrating or a certain country was evil and needed to be attacked. The stories may have contained a grain of truth or no truth at all, but their purpose was to sensationalize the news and stir up public opinion. The goal was to benefit the people in power who wanted the public to fear that immigrant group or support a war against a certain country.

Not all people that are obsessed become insane. Those that do are so obsessed over making money, being in love, wantingpower that they eventually become drained from trying to cover all corners and be constantly ahead of the game. Among the 8 countries listed above, the US only has about 50% of the lawyers (37 percent of the total population). India alone has over 1 million lawyers (more than the USA). Therefore, the US does not even come close to having 70% of the world's population of lawyers. Myth busted.
But, with 2.2 million people in prisons, the US has a lawyer for every two inmates. Considering the ridiculous rate at which the United States incarcerates, that is saying something.

This depends on so many factors. Im planning on being a writer when im older, creative writing major. Publishing companies will sometime give you a small amount of bonus money for writing ur novel when your not doing well financially (if ur broke u likely have to work the whole day, therefore wouldnt have time to write) Jk Rowling got a 15k from her publishing company to complete the first harry potter novel. Most books wont be read by anyone but really friends and family who buy it, but the ceiling is extremely high. Much less than one percent of authors actually make a living solely off of books. You'll likely have to work other jobs, but don't let that discourage you if its your dream.
Why is it hard to become a reporter?
It is not very hard to become a reporter - you just need excellent written and verbal communication skills. A degree helps, but in my experience is not necessary as long as you can type up an interesting, true account of the news, and are willing to do the work.
If you want to become a reporter, I would suggest attending events and talking to a few reporters in your area - ask them how they started, what they usually cover, and get an idea about what they do. You can pick them out pretty easily - they're the ones that are constantly scribbling in their notebooks. Wait until the event is over though, so you don't make them miss anything important.
Do you have any writing experience? If so, put together a portfolio of your work and send it into a few local newspapers in your area. Make sure you follow up with them - in my experience, a lot of them simply forget to call back. Things get busy in a newsroom, especially around deadline.
If you don't have any experience, practice. Attend an event and write up a story - get the who, what, when, where, and why - and don't forget the how - and fiddle with your story until you feel it is the best account of what happened. Study other people's work (but don't plagiarize!) and see what makes up an interesting story. Don't be afraid to talk to people and ask questions - you may ask the wrong question and piss someone off, but everything and anything is a learning experience, so try not to take it personally. Take a few writing classes if you can, and throw in an ethics class for good measure. Photography classes are fun, and a few local papers require a reporter to take their own pictures, so knowledge of that area is a bonus.
Be prepared to start at the bottom, especially if you have no prior experience. A lot of local publications hire freelancers - you can get your start there.
Also, be prepared for long hours and working weekends. The news doesn't just happen between 9 and 5, Monday through Friday.
