Because the fuel pump needs to be primed. Usually pumping the pedal *with the key in the ignition, turned to where the radio comes on* will do the trick. Be wary of being parked on a hill when you try this, as the angle will have an effect on fuel flow... or there may be a reset for the fuel pump.....

you should check if the engine sizes are the same as in liters ect if all that matches it should fit just fine

I have 2008 kia spectra which has two small back pull handles inside the trunk at the top of the opening. you pull them to unlonck the seats to fold them down-just asked customer service at the local dealership.

The 2000 Kia main catalytic converter is located in front of the exhaust muffler. The main catalytic converter can be seen on the bottom of the automobile.

TPMS or Tire Pressure Monitoring System monitors the air pressure in your tires. I personally had the system recalibrated too many times. Buy the Metra wiring harness adapter for your year Kia. Plug in the adapter to the factory wiring harness. Use crimp connectors, solder, heat shrink, etc to connect the wires from the car CD player to the adapter. Make sure no bare copper wires are exposed. Simply match up the wire colors with the CD player and adapter. Save your factory radio. You can quicky unplug the aftermarket harness and CD player and plug your factory radio back in when you sell the car.

DO NOT CUT THE FACTORY WIRING. The factory wiring color codes are vehicle specific. If you cut the wiring already then take the car to a professional car audio shop and pay for your mistake to be repaired properly.

Hi, the vehicle (like all vehicles today) has an automatic tensioner - it is possible that it is seized and needs replacing. Otherwise try this: First, raise the vehicle and remove the wheel from the right front side, next remove the plastic splash shield and from there you will see the tensioner pulley and adjuster bolt. Loosen the nut first and then you turn the adjuster bolt.

on TOP of the engine..plate with about 8 Phillips screws. The plate has OHC 16 valve on it....Unscrew that plate..you will see two things that you will recognize as plug wires...the other two plugs are beneath the creme colored square plastic filled areas. Just unscrew the two screws..lift off..and remove the plugs beneath.

I would look for a vacuum leak. Forget about a vacuum leak, look at the wiring harness that powers both ignition coils over plugs 2 and 4. If that wiring harness or the plugs are just the least bit cracked, it needs to be replaced. The coils aren't getting proper voltage. _________________ If it was running fine prior to the installation of your plugs, then it's safe to say that it's something to do with the plugs. My guess, off the top, would be that you've reinstalled the wires incorrectly. Verify your firing order, and confirm correct installation. Otherwise, I would recheck plug gap, then get into the expensive stuff.

Some posts have mentioned a small rod that can be seen under the dash on the passenger side. For the 2002 Spectra, this rod controls the temperature. The rod that controls which vent the air comes out of, is under the dash on the drivers side near the control knobs. If it is hanging loose, reconnecting it will almost certainly correct the problem. The air flow may also be controlled by a small motor behind the dash. The part is not cheap and your local Kia dealer will probably charge a chunk for the labor. Most of the dash has to be removed to get the assembly out, requiring the removal of a number of screws and careful prying. If you want to try the repair by yourself, befriend a local Kia mechanic and ask for instructions or go to your local library and see if they have a repair book that covers your car. Worse comes to worse, you can buy the manual online. If you have any intention of keeping the car for a while, the book will be a good investment because you will need it often.

the starter is mounted on the back of the motor under the intake manifold bolted to the tranmission bellhousing

at the interval recommended by the manufacturer any kia dealer will give you that info

I have the same problem and was told the the DRL resister under the hood needed to be changed but that didn't work. The next thing is to replace the bulb, but in order for that to happen you would have to take the entire headlight out. There are 2 screws on the top that need to come out and another lock nut in the back of the headlight, this is the easy side - passenger. The driver side the battery have to come out.

Currently it seems like you have no choice but to replace the complete arm, that is all I can find available.

The Door ajar light is not run by a specific fuse. If your 2003 Kia Spectra has a door light keep coming on, you will want to check the connections to make sure that all of the doors are completely closed.

Depends on the oil filter you are looking for ;) They vary quite a bit. And well, you didn't include a year, or model.

If you are into FRAM (available most anywhere, including most Walmarts), here's what I came up for the 2008 Kia Optima:

For 1.8L DOHC (mine is 2002, but 2003 should be the same) Open hood. Remove large plastic shield covering engine. Under the shield are two rectangular packs sitting side-by-side. The four spark plugs are under these two packs, deep in the engine - you will need an extension (and possibly a piece of hose) to get them out. Be careful not to strip the threads in the engine when installing new plugs.

Please do not go by the answer above ! Kia's all have a zero clearance motors. here is a very good example. your timing belt breaks your motor is garbage! your intake valves spark plugs and exhaust valves will all be embedded in your piston. Please read your manual and go by what it says, and I state it says change it at 60,000 miles. If you want to save your motor in your kia Rio, Spectra, Sedona, Sportage, Amanti, Rondo, etc CHANGE IT AT 60,000 MILES!!!

There is a shut off fuel switch on the 2007 Kia spectra. It is a rubber covered button mounted at the top and rear of the left shock tower. Press down on it to restore the fuel flow.

First you have to take off both front tires then you can see the break mount there its facing right at you there would be two bolts that take that off they are really tight so it takes some muscles to break them loose take those off then the whole break mount comes off. then all you have to do is take out the old break pads and put the new ones in. You are going to need a C clamp about a 6 inch one or so to push the piston style thing back in its a round hydrollic that you have to push back in once you do that just put it all back together and make sure to pump the breaks a couple of time before driving off to set the breaks back in place!
