Unplug the powercord and run on battery. I have an external that flickers with the cord in so i uplug it for awhile and it fixes it. Ive heard a two prong power cord fixes the problem.

This could be due to more than one reason.
Possibility 1:
Your brightness may have been accidently turned down.
To fix this:
- Look at your keyboard. There should be a key labelled "fn". There should also be two keys with blue images of a sun on them, one shaded/dark sun and an empty/bright sun. Usually on the directional arrow keys
- Press and hold "fn" and press the empty/bright sun

The back-light on your screen may have been accidently turned off.
To fix this:
- Look for the "fn" key again. There should also be a key with the blue image of two boxes with a triangle between them, one box is shaded, the other has a star/snowflake in it
- Hold "fn" and press the key. If your back-light was off, it will now turn on again

There could be a startup software error causing the laptop to forget to turn the screen on

- Shut down. Unplug your laptop. Remove the battery
- Press and hold the power button for around 40 seconds
- Put the battery back in, turn on
