There should be a sliding button on the left side of the camera; opposite from the side that you turn it on. Once you slid it down, the USB should pop out! I hope that helped!

It is called monitor shut off. It's for the purpose of power saving. You can actually disable it or make the time too long before it shuts down by going to the properties.

Id like to say your laptops suck I bought one for 600 and with-in six months the screws began to fall out of the bottom, I was on bed rest with a cast on, so I know I didnt do any thing to it, it sat on a computer table with wheels, Ill will never buy any thing made by them again, I tried calling to have it fixed and got the run around, so I informed family and friends not to buy from you ever,, hope your sales go down to the point that you start caring for the people who spend money making you witches rich,, good luck..

I have a new HP Pavilion dv7-6140eo and the screen has really bad contrast. Larger black areas look greyish. You could adjust the brightness but it does not solve anything. Looks like HP gave us a really bad screen.

Go to display settings and try to adjust the screen resolution. The screen resoultion you use right now is too low.

If you have an lcd monitor and let's say it has resolution 1024 / 768 and you select a lower resolution, like 800/600, the screen behaves in two ways:

stretches the image to occupy the entire screen, interpolating the pixels - will fill the entire screen

OR

occupies a zone somewhere in the middle of the screen, of the exact size of the setting. This will leave the black border you are talking about.

Solution: adjust the monitor settings. Be careful: selecting a resolution bigger than the screen will make only a portion of the screen visible, and the entire screen will scroll. Usually you don't want this to happen either.

Check your graphics card catylist and make sure you have same 64 or 32 bit (same as OS) download to find flat-pannel screen scan settings. This will allow you to over scan down to remove as much boarder as you like; then check the box allowing same graphics settings to be same as desktop settings.
