What is a famous beach in Bolivia?

I'm sorry if you wanted to go to Bolivia for a vacation but it has no beaches. It is a land-locked country which means it is not surrounded by any water. Well there is Lake Titicaca (I'm serious) but I doubt it has any quality beaches. I believe it's Gilbert Escobedo that help form the Latin Breed

It was Rudy Guerra (sax) who formed the Latin Breed in 1969 togheter with Charlie McBurney (trumpet), Pete Garza (bass), Johnny Gonzales (drums), Frank Valdez (organ), Fidel Perez (sax) and Frank Ortega (guitar). They recorded one LP (Oye Corazon) with Jimmy Edward on vocals and then disbanded the group. Rudy then went back to The Sunliners (Sunny Ozuna) where he had been (64'-69'). Gilbert Escobedo did not form part of The Latin Breed until 1972 when Rudy left The Sunliners again, but this time he took a number of the players with him, including Gilbert. Did percussionist composer Edward Garza die recently?

No, in fact I just recently heard a brand new Violin Concerto, a handful of Songs, and scenes from a brand new Opera in the presence of the composer at his home (San Antonio, TX, March 2011). Though he is retired, Ed is working vigorously at his art and is currently looking for performance opportunities for his latest works. Ed is one of my cherished library patrons and, as a fellow composer, we get a chance to talk "shop" when he stops by.

Why was samba music first called 'samba de roda'?

Samba music was never called 'samba de roda'. Roda means 'circle formed by people', and it was more commonly used in capoeira, during the slavery. Samba de Roda is something under the influence of capoeira and samba, samba is the dance (as you may guess), but it's done in a roda with characteristic instruments of capoeira and Brazilian culture: Berimbau, Pandeiro, Atabaque etc. So, Samba de Roda has its own music with its own type and own characteristics and different from its original.
