Well there is Lake Titicaca (I'm serious) but I doubt it has any quality beaches. It was Rudy Guerra (sax) who formed the Latin Breed in 1969 togheter with Charlie McBurney (trumpet), Pete Garza (bass), Johnny Gonzales (drums), Frank Valdez (organ), Fidel Perez (sax) and Frank Ortega (guitar). They recorded one LP (Oye Corazon) with Jimmy Edward on vocals and then disbanded the group. Rudy then went back to The Sunliners (Sunny Ozuna) where he had been (64'-69'). Gilbert Escobedo did not form part of The Latin Breed until 1972 when Rudy left The Sunliners again, but this time he took a number of the players with him, including Gilbert. Their new album then was "The Return of The Latin Breed" (1972).

No, in fact I just recently heard a brand new Violin Concerto, a handful of Songs, and scenes from a brand new Opera in the presence of the composer at his home (San Antonio, TX, March 2011). Though he is retired, Ed is working vigorously at his art and is currently looking for performance opportunities for his latest works.
