If you have a 2004-2006 (other years may also be the same), the cabin air filter sits behind the glove compartment in your vehicle. To access the cabin air filter, open the glove compartment as you would normally. On the left side of the compartment, you will see a knob with a retractable string that attaches to the glove compartment (this controls how fast the glove compartment falls when you open it). While gently pushing up on the glove compartment, turn the knob attachment clockwise slightly and then away from the glove compartment to release it. Then push in on both ends of the glove compartment to release the catch triggers that lock the glove compartment movement downward. At this point, the glove compartment will be completely free, so make sure to keep your hand underneath it so it does not completely fall out. You do not need to completely remove the glove compartment, you only need it to be released from the vehicle's dash. Inside the newly exposed area behind the glove compartment, you will see a white filter housing panel. Push in the two clips to release the filter housing. Replace the filter with a suitable replacement, making sure to maintain the position of the filter (filters will not work correctly if they are not in the right position). Place the filter housing panel back into the vehicle. Make sure it is locked in with the two clips. Reverse the steps above to replace the glove compartment.

NOTE: You may find it easier to attach the control level (the retractable string) to the glove compartment before locking in the two catch triggers on either side of the glove compartment.

2JZ-GE Engine # Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait at least 90 seconds before performing any other work. # Remove the engine undercover. # Turn the drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the drive belt from the engine. # Disconnect the generator electrical connector. # Remove the rubber cap and nut and then disconnect the alternator wire. # Disconnect the alternator wire clamp from the wire clip on the alternator. # Disconnect the A/T coolant hoses and bracket from the alternator by removing the bolt and pipe clamp. # Remove the alternator bolt, nut, pipe bracket and then remove the alternator from the engine. To install: # Install the alternator and pipe bracket. Torque the bolt and nut to 27 ft. lbs. (37 Nm). # Install the A/T oil cooler pipes to the alternator and install the bolt and pipe clamp. # Connect the alternator wire clamp to the wire clip on the alternator. # Connect the electrical wire to the alternator and install the nut. # Install the alternator electrical connector. # Install the drive belt. # Install the lower engine cover. # Connect the negative battery cable. # Start the engine and check the charging system for proper operation

take out the old speakers and put in the new ones.

The cabin air filter can be reached by removing the small panel at the back of the glove box. The panel is held in place by some small push clips, and is pretty easy to remove. The filter is located just behind the panel and should slide right out. Good Luck.

remove the air duct (two 6mm bolts)

using a long 14mm wrench or socket, pull counterclockwise on the tensioner pulley, it's spring loaded so if the pulley you're on doesn't move, that's not the right one. as you're looking down, it's just to the left of the crack pulley.

remove the belt, slipping it around the fan, and then put the new belt in position. there's a diagram on a sticker on the hood. make sure the belt is in all the grooves or it'll shred it as soon as you start the car.

the tensioner is spring loaded, so you don't have to do anything after that.

reinstall the air duct.

Just finished replacing my broken cup holder on my 97 Lexus ES300. Pretty simple once you figure it out though. I'd expect it should take 15 to 20 minutes

First, pry off the trim piece that goes around the shifter. If you don't have a trim removal tool, it might be the right time to spend the $6 at Walmart and invest in a set, I suppose a butter knife might work. At the end furthest from the dash, slip the thin pry tool down the long side of the bezel and pry upwards. It should pop up out of its clips. Repeat on the other side. The front of the bezel (below the ash tray in the dash) has 2 tabs that insert under the ash tray, so pull up from the other end and it should lift out.

Remove the 2 Philips head screws that are now visible that hold the front of console. Inside the console, remove the pad around the power outlet to remove the 2 bolts that secure the console to the floor.

Lift up on the console, disconnect the connector for the power outlet, and pull out the center console.

Four Philips head screws hold in the cup holder in the console. Remove those and the reinstall the replacement,

Installation is the reverse, make sure you get those front tabs on the shifter trim into the slots before you push down and snap it back into place

I hunted to find the right color replacement at junkyard, but it appears that if you're careful, the front cover is held on by 2 tabs, and you should be able to remove your original and put it on the replacement.

Now put your coffee in the cup holder and relax :)

yes u can the lexus has a big brakes in the front so u will need to shave them down or use spacers and u need a 22/8 rim or 22\8.5 inch with a 225/30/22 tire or a 235/30/22 tire and u will be good

You must go to the Lexus Dealer to get the key programmed. Only Lexus Dealers have the correct software to program new keys. Be aware that some key fobs bought from eBay and other internet sites cannot be programmed since they have been already programmed to another vehicle.

For the LS400 1UZ-FE V8 the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, RH from the front 2-4-6-8, LH from the front 1-3-5-7. The RH/LH of the engine is facing forward, in other words, from the drivers seat looking forward.

I have a 2001 es and it is in the back between the engine and firewall, down low and you can get to it from the drivers side (not easy to get out).

As you face the front of the vehicle, the drain plug is on the left side of the engine. The oil filter is on the right side (driver's side). You will need to lift the driver's side of the vehicle slightly to access the oil filter. The engine cover must be partially removed to access the filter. You need remove only 4-5 screws (a 10mm socket wrench or box wrench is better than using a Phillips screwdriver to remove these). Once you remove these screws, you can pull down the cover and access the filter. An oil filter wrench (cup type that a 3/8ths socket wrench fits into) that fits over the end of the filter is the easiest way to remove the filter. When you put the new filter on, be sure to wipe some oil on the gasket. Hand tighten it, then turn it no more than a quarter of a turn with the wrench. You will need 14mm wrench to remove the drain plug. Be sure to recycle the used oil. Plan for 5+ quarts of oil.

VSC means Vehicle Stability Control or Vehicle Skid Control, I don't remember. It controls the car sliding sideways etc as opposed to Traction Control which just controls wheel spin. If it says Check VSC this is a pretty big deal. It means your VSC system is not functioning properly. You are driving without that electronic protection that keeps you on the road. For the most part you are going to be safe w/o VSC but if you hurry, I don't know when you bought your car, but you can get it into the shop before the warranty runs out.

Your passenger side signal can be changed by just reaching down beside the head lightbulb twist and it will come out.The driver side may be a lil more difficult to reach but you can get to it the same way.

weight oil and start the engine, letting it run for 30 seconds. Shut the engine off and

wait 30 minutes. Check the oil level and add as necessary to reach the full mark. You now know the capacity.
