I believe Minecraft dropped support for Java 1.5 and lower so I think Mac OS 10.5 is the last one supported.

The MacBook Air is the lower end laptop so I really don't think it would work well if you did get it to work. It came with permanently installed ram, meaning you cannot add more after it was purchased. Unless the MacBook Air's ram was maxed out when it was purchased new, that old of a laptop would just be too laggy.

If you know someone that has an account then you can try installing Minecraft on your computer and have them log into their Minecraft account and see if it will play well.

No you have to buy it installed into the computer unlike windows which you can upgrade with a disc (I did when windows 8 came out).

Using the default controls, you have to right click. However, this may not work as in order to run Terraria on mac, as it requires a windows emulator/

1) find your .minecraft folder

2) open the .minecraft folder

3) open the bin folder

4) right click minecraft.jar (you will need winrar or 7zip etc) open with winrar or 7zip

5) follow instructions on how to install the mod.

If it is a PC game it will only work of Windows, but the new Macs that are coming out have Windows already installed on there. All you have to do if load Windows when you boot up. Then insert the PC disc otherwise it will not work on Mac.

Download the map, and open a new window in Finder. The search for Library, and in that folder there will be another folder called Application Support. Look for the Minecraft folder, then open the saves folder and drag in the custom map. There are a lot of folders, but you can also put texture packs in similarly, but put them in texture packs instead of saves.
