Why do you go completely blind just before you get an excruciating headache?
This question seems to regard a particular type of headache known as a migraine. Most traditional migraineurs experience "auras" as a preliminary symptom of an incoming migraine, which could explain the blindness. Auras typically comprise various shapes affecting peripheral and focused vision and can be just as annoying as the migraine itself. Auras are hard to describe visually, but mine look like a very bright light shining through a prism in water (i.e. a pulsating rainbow effect). In my case, which differs from one migraine sufferer to the next, the worse my vision is due to auras and the longer the auras last, the worse the migraine will be. I recall one time being "blinded" by auras where I was not fit to do anything at all--I could not read anything nor could I focus on anything at all. The migraine that followed those symptoms evolved into the worst one I had, which caused vomiting, nausea, and rendered me totally useless for a few hours.
If you experience those symptoms, I recommend taking some type of powerful pain killer immediately. Additionally, begin logging your results per migraine. I record perhaps too much information, but I note the time of day the auras started, how long the auras lasted, rate the severity of the auras, the total duration of the migraine experience, rate the pain associated with migraines, note side effects, record every bit of food eaten (or not eaten) that day and the day before, barometric pressure difference from the day of the migraine and the previous day, the amount of sleep from the night before (or lack thereof), the stress level in your life, pollen levels outside, and note your hypersensitivities (does light bother your eyes? sound? etc.). From taking such logs, I've been able to deduce that irregular dieting (skipping a meal), ingesting caffeine at the wrong time of the day, lacking sleep, and stress factor into triggering migraines. I have it down almost to a T where if I want to induce a migraine, I know exactly how to diet, sleep, and live 48 hours before getting one.
Good luck in overcoming them!

PTSD symptoms are often found in combination with other conditions. So it is quite common to find someone with PTSD who also has Bipolar or even a personality disorder.
Bipolar disorder can be either manic or depressive and medication is often the first choice to treat it. Specific meds are used to control the mood swing element and mood stabilizers are usually used to help the depression. Prozac (fluoxetine) is often prescribed for the more impulsive and depressive symptoms but there are a range of drugs used for bipolar disorder, anti psychotics and mood stabilizers such as Lamotrigine.

What could a small hard lump be on the back of a 16-year-old's head?
It could be a growth, so you ought to see a doctor about it.
Unfortunately, there are no miracle cures, or there would be no Migraineurs. Topiramate is often a very effective preventive medicine, however vicodin can cause severe Medication Overuse Headache (MOH) aka rebound. For best results, seek out the help of a Migraine and Headache Specialist. These doctors are specially trained in the diagnosis and treatment of headache disorders beyond the scope of neurologists and primary care doctors.

You are 15 with really bad migrains why do you get them?
I'm 23 and have been getting migraines since i was about 15 too. keep a notebook. when you get a migraine, note the time of day, any physical activity you did before then (exercise, etc.), what you ate or drank that day, where you where that day, and things like that. you need to narrow down what is giving you migraines. really bad migraines can last DAYS! a way to hopefully get rid of them before they go into full bloom is take excedrine or something right when you feel it coming on, at the first signs. that may help get rid of it before it really starts or keep it bearable till it completely passes. doctors don't really know the cause of migraines yet. if they get really bad and occur too often that it interferes with your day-to-day life, you can get prescription migraine meds from your doctor.

Combating dehydration is simple. Drink more water, sports drinks, what have you.
Low blood sugar, it might not help to just eat something starchy, or a simple sugar before you exercise, but possibly add a protein in. This way your blood sugar remains at a more stable level.
Dilation of the blood vessels is harder to fight. The best you can do for yourself is to try and make sure you're warming up properly before you exercise, and giving yourself enough time to cool down.
In treating a migraine, the best thing you can do is to treat early. The aura comes on? Get in the dark, get some meds in you, and get an ice pack on your neck. Even if you don't feel pain yet, you might be able to head it off.

Would a humidifier help relieve joint stiffness?
It is better to use alternating ice (in a towel) and heat. A hot bath also will help relieve the stiffness, as well as slow movements. If it is a result of repetitive motion, try to avoid that movement for a few days and then find another way to accomplish what you were doing. You will want to reintroduce movement before too long, so you don't lose range of motion in that joint. No.
What are the sharp stabbing pains you get on top of your head or behind your ear?

I have been has been diagnosed with stomach migraines what are they?
Stomach migraines (also called abdominal migraines) are a type of migraine where the key feature of the migraine is nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, rather than the key feature being head pain.
Abdominal migraines are a common migraine variant pre-puberty. Many children who have abdominal migraines in their youth begin to have common or classic migraines as they reach young adulthood.
Abdominal migraines are treated with the same types of medication used to treat other types of migraine headache, although when the patient is under 18 years of age, there are limits as what to doctors will prescribe.
What causes abdominal migraines?
Abdominal migraine has also been termed "chronic vomiting syndrome" and is believed to be caused by similar triggers as "regular" cerebral migraines, i.e. suddena and/or dramatic changes in systemic hormones. Insulin also a type of hormone, and thus dramatic changes in blood sugar could potentially be one trigger for migraines, both cerebral and abdominal. More often the hormonal triggers appear to be related to sudden and/or dramatic changes in the body's levels of estrogens, progesterones, and testosterones.
What causes the migraine is the sudden and dramatic change in one or more hormones, however these changes in hormone levels act on the neurovascular system and cause vasodilation (enlarged blood vessels) and this creates inflammation in and around these blood vessels (both cerebral and abdominal) and the inflammation and swelling in the brain or abdomen is what causes the intense pain. The intestines are quite sensitive to distention -- so swelling in and around the intestinal area can cause telescoping of the stool and diarrhea as well as temporary obstruction of the intestinal pathway -- leading to reversal of the intestinal contents to be regurgitated due to the temporary blockage (or telescoping) of the intestinal pathway.
It has been suggested that a neuroconstrictor such as zomig or maxalt (triptan succinates successfully used for cerebral migraines) would be useful in preventing the abdominal migraine as these triptan succinates would reduce the inflammation and swelling in and around the blood vessels of the intestines. This is how the cerebral migraine is controlled - and best to take these triptan succinates at the very start of any symptoms so that there is ample time for the triptan succinates to become absorbed and effective to prevent the pain and vomiting of the abdominal migraine.
Im 13 years old and i want to starve myself until im thin how long will it take to work?
You need to talk to someone. Even if you were an overweight adult, there's no reason to starve yourself. A 13 year old like you doesn't need to be dieting or restricting portions. Get plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and good fats. You can do yourself a favor and ditch soda and sweets, but never, never starve yourself. If you really feel you're overweight, talk to a doctor for a proper eating plan. ... thought the same way. She wanted to be like the magazine models. What she didn't realize, though, is that the "cover girls" get taped, strapped, and corseted to fit into some of those outfits, then editors PhotoShop them into their final "figure." As a result of thinking herself too fat, even though she was not, she was malnourished, to the point that her "female organs" weren't developing properly. Once my wife and I told her that we'd love her even if she were wider than she was tall, she started eating better, and has since grown into a healthy young woman. Even if you've hit puberty, your body is still developing. Starving yourself will only hurt you in the long run, if you survive the ordeal. Your body is still going through enough changes that (a) you still need adequate nutrition, and (b) you won't necessarily be fat or thin for very long. == == == == Answer#2 If you keep going lose 30 to40 pounds in 3 months at 250 to 500 calories per day and even more if you eat less. Youll also mess up your life. I never fully recovered from my anorexia and I cant stop. Do not try starving, it will NOT make you happy. Answer#3 In addition to what everyone else has mentioned, starving yourself can result in your teeth or hair falling out, brittle bones (that will effect you the rest of your life), brain damage, and it can actually mess up your metabolism for life. When you starve yourself your body will actually go into a mode that it starts storing every single calorie that it gets, because it doesn't know when you might feed it again. It is just a bad idea all the way around. In the end, you might be skinny, but you could be bald and toothless too. Personally, I think the guys will turn their head for a girl with a little extra butt quicker than one who is all emaciated. It's just something to consider. If you are still really thinking about, do what some others have already mentioned and talk to your doctor about it. They can help you find the best way for you to get into your perfect shape without hurting yourself.
