What are stud dimensions for classic mini wheel?

Standard Classic Mini studs are 3/8" UNF and about 35 mm long. Early front and rear studs had a mushroom head but when disc brakes were introduced the mushroom head was changed to a head like that on a countersunk woodscrew but with no slot. "Competition" studs are still available in several lengths and these are used with wheel spacers. When classic Mini rear hubs are used on trailers it is advantageous to use slightly longer studs on the left hand side. The problem is that at about 600 kilos per axle or more, the wheel nuts on the left hand side tend to work loose especially if potholes and roadworks have been encountered. A 3/8" UNF Nylock nut put on top of the wheel nut will prevent nut loosening from happening. Thread-locking compound will also work. Unfortunately the rear hubs do not have enough metal to allow upgrades to 7/16" UNF or M12 studs.

How does a twin scroll turbocharger work?

Twin scroll turbine housing. The TST housing derives its name from the geometry of the exhaust gas inlet into the turbine. Two different-sized scrolls are generally used, a primary and a secondary. Typically, the primary is open for low-speed operation, and both for high-speed use. This creates the ability of the TST to be a small A/R housing at low speeds and a large A/R at higher speeds. TST designs are of merit in that they offer a better combination of low-speed response and high-end power. It would be difficult to configure the unit to control boost by effectively varying A/R. A wastegate is therefore still necessary to control boost pressure. Simplicity of the twin scroll turbine housing is its big selling point. [Source- "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell] in my opinion ,predoinantly twin scroll housing is used n diesel turbocharging systems on the engines having more than 4 cylinders to reduce pulsasation of these engines . Additonaly , output of some cyliders will go one scroll and remaining in other to cut down pulsastations janmajay

How long is it until the first MOT -Ministry of Transport- test is required?

The MOT test is applicable 3 years after the car was first registered!

What the hell is "mot" ? Is that an acronym, abbreviation or a typo? I'm assuming "mot" really means "mod" or modification to the car. How long? You can do it whenever you want. You just have to watch because a lot of mods will limit or void the warrantee. MOT = Ministry of Transport. A test carried out on cars every year to ensure they are roadworthy in the UK. A car needs its first MOT 3 years after first registration. Is this a great website or what? The things one learns!
