How do you change the alternator on a 1993 3000gt misubishi?
You hae to take off the front driver side tire. Then remove the plastic shielding inside the fenderwell at the bottom. The belt tentioner is located near the bottom of the engine. Turn the bolt so that the tentioner pulley moves up. Remove the belt. I took out the electric fan for he radiator to give me more room to take the alternator out. Then take out the bolts to the mount. (I found it easier). Take the alternator out of the mount, replace it, then reverse the order.
How do you remove the crank shaft pulley on a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000 GT?
This question answer requires a service manual Crank shaft pulley removal is a complicated procedure and should only be done by people with experience as many parts need to be removed including the timing belt which if not done properly will cause damage to the engine. It would take the novice at least a day to do the job and requires some specialty tools. Go to Team3s web site for all of the information needed or Erik Gross s site. You may as well do the 60k and change all of the other parts involved while you are at it. The motor is an interference motor and putting the timing belt on improperly will cause the pistons to hit the valves so "Beware"

What will can cause a 1993 3000GT Non Turbo not to change gears?
Bent or broken shift fork can cause this. Take off the boot around shifter and look at the linkage under there also. The bottom of boot just snaps in. Use a butter knife to pry up. Other than this Transmission will need disassembly
Mitsubishi 3000 gt interior door upholsery came loose?
If you mean that "bubbles" have developed and the "skin" is loose, the only real fix is to replace the panel. Attempts at glueing the skin back to the underlieing foam will be very difficult and temporary, as the foam will have dried and become "flakey" and will no longer hold the skin.
How do you increase boost on a 3000gt vr4?
i heard to take the little hose off that goes to the y pipe and plug the y pipe where you took the hose from, i tried it on mine and its a crap load of boost but mine sputters i thing i have a leak which i tought jb weld fixed it but i guess not, e mail me and let me know what happens lcarlosm@aol.com
*** EDIT ***
OMFG, are you trying to blow your engine?? It's sputtering because you are running super lean above 14.5 psi, and you are destroying bearings/pistons. Trust me, it only takes a few minutes of that abuse. May not find out for another year, but it will happen. I've ran lean a few times down the track, and it was enough to spin a bearing a year later.
Go to www.3si.org/forum and search "free boost mod" , you mod. the boost solenoid on the 1st gens to go from 9psi to 12 psi. If you want more, you will need an aftermarket boost gauge, a boost controller, and would be a good idea to get a datalogger to watch knock. 14psi is usually considered safe, anything above that and your stock injectors cannot supply enough fuel & you start going lean.

Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 swap front wheel drive?
It would be costly. Since the Vr4 is awd there is an extra rod in the transfer case. you can do it but you would have to buy other parts and mod existing ones.
It CAN be done, but it takes a lot of work. Rear axle has different mountings, front studs that are bolted to a different kind of welded piece that you need to obtain and weld on. Also FWD has link mounts there that you need to cut off plus a little more to make those pieces fit there. Also the rear studs/bolts are 12mm on the FWD, 16mm and longer on the AWD, so you need to change them. They "hang freely" from the inside of the frame beam, so it's not an easy task either.
Smaller issues are propeller shaft mounts, rear ones are there, but front ones you need to weld there, at least one nut or bolt. Also rear shocks will be in an angle since the upper mounts are placed differently. Will be difficult to install them, but they'll still work.
Of course you need all the parts: complete rear axle & mounts, prop shaft, rear shocks, AWD transaxle & transfer case, ...
If you're considering twin turbo FWD, the task is a lot simpler. Just swap the engine and bolt what ever transaxle you have. (though auto tranny might give some trouble with no engine control)
When you remove the engine, take it with it's wiring harness and install the TT one with it's own harness & ECU. At least that's what I did. You'll probably need to change a few connectors that are inside the car, connecting engine harness to body harness. ECU is located behind the radio and there's a bunch of connectors in the passenger footwell. Deep.
Where is the crank sensor on a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000 GT?
behind harmonic balancer, front of engine(passenger side of car is "front") balancer is large pulley down low - must use harmonic puller to remove- DO NOT use standard puller or you will destroy it (costs about $300.00 to replace)then also need to remove cam-belt cover
What does the Mitsubishi symbol mean?
The symbol the automaker Mitsubishi is using as its symbol is called "the Triceps".
The Triceps is an uncommen version of the symbol called Valknut. Valknut is an old Norse occultic symbol.
The Valknut found on old Norse stonecarvings is called "Hrungnir's heart," after the legendary giant of the Eddas. It is best known as the Valknut, or "knot of the slain," and it has been found on stone carvings with funerary motifs, where it signified the afterlife.
The valknut can be drawn unicursally (in one stroke), making it a popular talisman of protection against spirits.
The Valknut's three interlocking shapes and nine points suggest rebirth, pregnancy, and cycles of reincarnation. The nine points are also suggestive of the Nine Worlds (and the nine fates) of Norse mythology. Their interwoven shape suggests the belief of the interelatedness of the three realms of earth, hel, and the heavens, and the nine domains they encompass.
The Valknut is also an important symbol to many follwers of the Asatru faith, who often wear it as a symbol of the faith.
The triceps was used into the middle ages as a magical sign of protection.

Though it could be this, there is another possibility. A Japanese samurai named Iwasaki Yataro founded the company back in 1870 in Japan. At the time, Mitsubishi won government contracts for railroad and steamship lines that were designed to compete with the British companies in the region. In Japanese, Mitsubishi means Three Diamonds, hence the symbol.

Why would a manual Mitsubishi 3000GT stop shifting into reverse but work fine in drive?
Check your tranny fluid.
Possible broken or bent shift fork
check the reverse sensor. Open the hood and look on the passenger's side of the motor, where the transmission is. The sensor is all by itself, pretty mmuch in plain view, you'll see 2 wires coming out of it. If that little sensor is too tight, or doesnt have the right sized washer on it, you will not be able to put the car into reverse. Check that before you go spend a whole bunch of money on diagnosing / fixing other things.

Will a 5 speed transmission of a sohc work in a dohc 3000gt mit?
yes, i own a 93 300gt, which if you know them you will know that the 93 is the ugly duckling year. 1st gen 91-92 have variable timing, 93 alone have the 1st gen body but a shorter throw for the shifter, and cam sensors. but i am currently running a sohc 3000gt transmission on my dohc.
Does a 3.0 engine get good gas mileage?
The Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (Twin Turbo model) does NOT get good mileage in town, though it is acceptable on the highway.
I get about 15 city 28 hwy, my car isn't stock though and probably would use less in the city without the turbo/fuel upgrades
for a car with over 400 horsepower the mileage isn't bad, but for being a 3.0 v6 it isn't good
depends on how you look at it
