if it is a three speed automatic it is probably the TCC solenoid sticking. On the front of the trans (pointing towards radiatoer) there will be a square plug that you can unplug. if that fixes the problem then it is TCC sol. DO NOT DRIVE ON LONG TRIPS UNPLUGED THIS IS TEST ONLY. WILL CAUSE TRANS OVERHEATING AND DAMAGE IF DRIVEN EXTENDED PERIODS . but if it does correct the problem you know what is wrong.
It will NOT cause transmission damage in early 90s or older cars, only when you get into 96-97 and older cars with overdrive transmissions.
So, just look in the front of your transmission, its a 4 wire plug, unhook it and you should be on your way.
Best advice I can give you is go to www.Team3s.com and post the question to the forum. You will get a lot of good answers as its a great site with people who know your car. They ask for a small one time donation of like $5. and its well worth it if you own one of these cars the information you will get there along with parts deals from Mitsubishi dealers are great, Best investment you will ever make

What if your Mitsubishi 3000gt jumps out of reverse gear why?
Usually (on a manual transmission) it is the reverse ring gear that sits in the rear of the transmission in the 5th gear sychro. The springs that holds it in place usually wears out due to heat and use that the gear gets damaged and no longer makes contact enough to lock into place. Or the case itself has become damaged and is misaligned. Also check your cables before pulling the ring gear out. Sometimes they go out of adjustment and can cause the same issue. Hope that helps.

How to unplug rear hatch drains on a 96 3000gt?
A small dowel or cleaning rod long enough to pass through the drains can push debris out the bottom - they're just tubes that come out underneath the bumper.

How do you disconnect a factory alarm on a 1993 3000gt?
It's up by the firewall on the driver side of the vehicle. It's this weird little contraption.. I'm not sure if the vehicle will still run without it, i haven't researched that (some high dollar cars won't run without the alarm system). It looks like you'd just unscrew one little screw and the whole assembly would come out, however, the power cable coming into it is red and white (i think) and looks as though it just clips on.
How do you bleed a clutch in a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000 GT SL?
It's like a brake job, infact the bleeder is the same size as the brake bleader. Find the clutch slave cylinder at the transmission. It on the passenger side and at the front. You should be able to trace the line and/or see where the clutch fork comes out to it. You will probably need to pull the intake piping off (I have turbo and not the NA so not sure for your model). Fill up the master (at firewall) with new fluid. Have a buddy pump it up (with hand if that far gone). Then have him hold it to the floor. Crack the 8mm bleader and close. The keep repeating
answer
ALL HYDRAULIC CLUTCH ON CARS ARE ALL DA SAME THE KEYS ARE MAKE SURE THE FLUID LINES CONNECTED TO YOUR SLAVE AND MASTER CYLINDERS ARE ALL TIGHT WHATEVER TECHNIQ YOU CAN DO TO PROPERLY TIGHTEN THEM AND NO LEAKS,AFTER THAT IF THERES NO MORE LEAKS HAND PUMP VACUUM BLEEDER IS ONE OF THE KEY FROM SLAVE BLEEDER SCREW,AND THATS YOU JUST GOT YOURSELF A DEALER CLUTCH & UNTIL THE PARTS ARE EXPIRED, THE ONE OF THE MAIN THING TO REMEMBER IS IF YOU CAN PREVENT TO BLEED THEM JUST ONCE ONLY DO IT PERFECT,IT WILL GUARANTEED DEALER CLUTCH.WITHOUT PROBLEMS UNTIL THEY EXPIRED,
Where is the neutral safety switch on a 1991 4WD Toyota Pickup and how would you replace it?
the neutral start switch is located on the right side of the transmission housing. It can be adjusted or if it fails continuity check must be replaced. to adjust put trans select lever in N.loosen the bolt at the top right and align the groove in the end of the control shaft with the vertical index line on the switch by pivoting the switch, then tighten the bolt. In park or neutral you should have continuity between the 2nd and 3rd terminals from the right on the bottom looking into the connector with the snap clip on top. If not you will need to replace it.
Does the whole window regulator need to be replaced if it breaks and the window falls into the door?
I posted this because its a very common problem with these cars. the window rides on the cable with two plastic clips after years these clips will break it starts if when the window is down and you slam the door you can hear the window rattle, and when you roll it up the window goes up crooked or makes a clicking type sound. when the clips break the window will fall into the door. the dealership says you must replace the whole
assembly at around 250 dollars and that is not true. you can buy just the clips and fix it yourself. the clip part numbers are 15286776, 15286777 there is a right and left side on the window and these fit passenger or driver side. They run roughly 25-30 dollars each but alot better than 250. i found mine at a Chevrolet dealer. I have yet to install them but have read numerous post that they are a breeze to install just takes time. I hope this helps someone out and good luck :)

How do you flush radiator on 1995 Mitsubishi 3000gt?
Same radiator for base, sl and turbo model. I believe it is also the same radiator 94-99, and possibly for the 91-93. There is a drain plug at the bottom.
1. Drain some fluid out, a quart or half a gallon or so. - You will want to raise the front end most likely for this part.
2. Pull the top radiator hose off. - this is easy.
3. Add your radiator flush cleaner directly to the radiator.
4. Add water slowly until the radiator is full.
5. Reconnect the top hose.
6. Run the car around the block or until you are sure the car has gotten hot enough to circulate through the system a few times.
7. Drain all the fluid out again. You might even let the car run for a minute or two just a little to make sure you have pushed out as much of the dirty water out as possible. But don't let the car get too hot.
8. Repeat steps 2-7 again. But just use water on step 3.
9. You really should replace the thermostate at this point.
10. Pull the top hose off the radiator again and fill it with your 50/50 mix or whatever ratio you use.
11. Replace the hose, and fill the reservoir with coolant. Let the car run and continue to fill the reservoir until you are sure the system is circulating and that there is enough coolant.

What is the average lifespan on a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 and Non turbo?
if the engine is well looked after and had plenty of decent oil changes then the engine should be good for 250000 - 300000.
How much would cost to change a timing belt on a Mitsubishi 3000gt?
I had this done about a year ago on my 94 GT SL. You also need to have water pump done at the same time. Should cost around $1500 and after 75000 miles really needs to be done. It that belt goes your motor is history.
Can you replace a 1993 300zx non-turbo engine with a 2006 350z engine?
I don't know why you would want to because the vg30dett is a better engine anyways, but no, not without some Major modifications, plus a new transmission, drive shaft and rear differential.
How do you change the headlight bulbs on a 1998 Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4?
Just twist the bulb socket from under the hood behind the headlampand do not touch the new bulb glass with your fingers when replacing it or it will prematurely fail.
How many miles per gallon does a Mitsubishi 3000GT get?
Depends entirely on which model, your driving habits, and any mods you've installed. Other things that affect mileage are engine conditions/maintenance, tire pressure, etc. That said, my bone stock DOHC non-turbo regularly gets 24 mpg on mostly county highway driving. I've gotten as high as 32 mpg for a long trip, but typically get 27-28 for long distance drives. Addendum: My 1992 Turbo typically got 29-31 mpg on the freeway on long trips, but city mileage varied widely, from 17 to 25 mpg. Kind of amazing for a 4000lb car with 300hp.
What engine came in the 1990 3000gt vr4?

96 Mitsubishi 3000 GT rear window wiper won't turn off?
Just stick a flat screwdriver in slot next to rear wiper switch to straighten switch and try to stop wipers. It might take a few times but this worked for me! or you could pull the power wire from the wiper motor - remove the plastic cover from the boot lid to gain access ...or remove fuse, take out one at a time until motor stops.
