1. Turn off the Battery power by disconnecting the negative pole of the battery

2. Be sure the glass of the door is on the up position to prevent breakage

3. Remove the 2 screws on the handle of the door panel

4. Remove 1 screw behind the handle on the lock latch

5. Remove the plastic cover on the latch using a screw driver wrapped with a rag to prevent damage to the plastic. Start working anteriorly (front of vehicle) to posterior. Try to insert a small screw driver to release the "clip lock" of the cover which is found near the hinge of the latch. Be very careful not to break this plastic cover. For me this is the hardest part to do.

6. Pry out the cover of the door light with a screw driver wrapped with a rag. Remove the bulb and remove the small screw and detach the light housing from the connector.

7. Pry upward the whole housing unit where the controls of the mirror, door lock etc. from the door panel handle (this is secured only by clips). You can use your fingers to do this but you can use the protected screw driver as well. Disconnect the connectors

8. Now, you are ready to detach the whole door panel. The plastic door panel is attached to the door by several clips. Look under the door and you will see two small rectangular notches on the panel. Try to insert a protected screw driver thru it and try to pry out and dis-engage the clips that hold the door panel. There are several of these. Try to sweep the screw driver in to locate the other clips.

I saw on another site that it is located under the dash hidden in the heating unit. If you are having problems with the driver's side floor board getting soaked after driving look around on-line. There are MANY complaints and suggestions out there. Right now I am doing what I can to have Mitsubishi pay for my line to be cleaned and the insulation to be replaced as many people have paid anywhere from $300-900 to have this fixed. I DON'T THINK SO. Hope this helps.

remove the front console cover by pulling on it backwards. This is held by clips and the electronic connector at the back central portion. Be careful not to break the console cover

Disconnect the wires that is connected to this console to remove it entirely.

Remove the metal screws that holds the stereo pull it out and disconnect all the harnesses behind it.

If you stand on the passanger side of the car, to your left will be the engine wall(between the engine and the inside of your car).There is kind of a gap. At the bottom of the wall is a rubber spigot. It is not easy to see. You can use an air compressor to blow out the clog. You may have to come back a few days later and do it again. In the mean time, under the car on the floor boards are rubber seals, you can take them out to let the water drain. DO NOT loose them, you need to put them back ASAP because it will let carbon dioxide into your car--very bad.

Its the cylinder head underneath the intake manifold. Cyl. 1 is the cylinder closest to the timing covers. The ignition coils fail frequently. I've seen a lot of them if you are having misfire concerns.

There are three small bolts holding the driver's side mirror on. Two can be accessed by opening door and removing the two circular rubber boots seen on the upper end of the door . To access the third bolt you will need to remove the door panel. you will need a forked driver to help remove the door panel. It can be bought at any auto parts store. It has a flat Y shaped head that can be inserted along the lateral and bottom edge of the door panel to pop it way from the door frame. There are three screws holding the door panel on. Two under the door handle and one behind the door latch. Then the door lifts up and off. Make sure you have the window down before you take the panel off because you cannot access the third bolt unless it is. You will have to unplug the electrical connects that power the controls on the door handle to completely remove the door panel. After you remove the panel there will be a hole in the upper right hand door frame, possibly covered by a black patch. Beneath this is the third bolt. you will also need to disconnect the light from inside the door frame before you will be able pull the mirror off. There is a large rubber boot oval shaped that you can pull out and you will see the electrical connection for the mirror inside the hole on the right.

i have the same problem with mine, it comes from the right passenger side underneath the vehicle, ive read on some posts the its the heat shield, and it shouldn't cost much to fix, im fixing to take mine in soon, cause the sound is annoying, i took it to where i bought it and they said it was a normal sound, which i know that sounds like theyre just full of it, so i hope that fixes the problem, other than that, its a great vehicle

I also had the same problem on mine - the exhaust heat shield beneath the oil pan rusts out on one/both sides around the clamps. Once a side breaks free of the clamps, it rattles like crazy. A cheap solution is to use a metal wire which withstands the exhaust temps and resecure the shield. I would recommend replacement personally - it's $40 to replace.

Open the hatch-back, the tail light assembly which is red, has two Phillips head sheet-metal screws, one on top and one on the bottom. Remove these two screws and then use slight pressure or a flat-head screw-driver to pry the assembly loose. Be careful not to crack the assembly. The tail-light assembly will have three different caps that have wires leading to them. The one in the middle is the brake light, slightly turn the assembly to the left or right and it should dis-engage, push the bulb down and turn, the bulb should come out. Replace the bulb and use the same procedure in reverse to re-assemble the fixture.

Step on the brake, press the lock on the 'Shift Stick' and push it to 'Park'.

Just finished. By using the guidelines from the web page listed above, the front brakes were a breeze! The rear brakes, on the other hand, are set up different than the front. I think if you're confident enough and are mechanically inclined, you can figure it out fairly easily. I took my time, and am quite confident with my work. The website above also mentioned taking pictures with a digital camera to make sure everything goes back in it's right place. I did this for the first set of brakes I did, and it helped a lot. The Service Engine or Check Engine light comes on when the ECU has detected a problem with the emissions system. Do not ignore this light even if the engine seems to be running fine. Failure to repair this can cause damage to the catalytic converter especially if the vehicle is not running good or using excess fuel.

the evaporator is located in the hvac box that sits behind the dash, it also holds the heater core, the blend air door, and the mode door....the dash has to be pulled out to get to the box.....not an easy job...

You can't change all the fluid without special equipment. Take it to a transmission shop.
