Except for the fact that the M4 still has problems cycling reduced loads. You have to brace yourself to make sure that a reduced load cycles properly. While the Benelli M4 is amazing, it is not without its drawbacks. The Benelli is also much more expensive than, say, the venerable Remington 870. As a proud owner of both a Benelli m4 and a 14" Remington 870 I can say that both are superb. Both are ferocious home defense weapons.
But since the question is which is thebest. I agree with the above response, the Benelli M4 is the finest tactical shotgun ever devised. If moneyis an object, however, a ghost ring sighted Remington 870 is a fine choice that will serve you well.
