Nissan check engine light?

The check engine light (service engine soon) comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to AutoZone or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area.

What is Ford error code p0300 on a 2001 sporttrac 4.0l?

P0300 Diagnostic Code - Random Misfire

Symptoms.
Engine may stumble or miss
Engine may be hard to start
you may notice no issues

Cause
Failing spark plugs or spark plug wires
Bad coil or coil pack
Failing oxygen sensor(s)
Bad fuel injector or more than one
Stuck exhaust valve
Bad catalytic converter
EGR valve or valve passage clogging
Bad camshaft position sensor
Bad PCM or ECM

The Fix
Best first action is a tune up, new plugs, wires, inspect all hoses and wire connections then reset the code. If it returns you will need to narrow it down to a system, coils and coil packs should be tested, catalytic converters for function ( do you smell rotten eggs?). A misfire that jumps cylinders could indicate a lean condition, do you have any other codes along with the 300? this will help clue you in to the source, check valve function to make sure they are opening and closing fully.
This is probably pone of the most difficult codes to troubleshoot, so start with the basics and work your way into the more expensive options, in many cases a good old tune up solves the problem, back it up with a fuel system cleaning and see where you stand.

Can you put a 2.0 zetec DOHC focus motor in a focus that had a 2.0 split port?

Everything would have to be transferred. All wiring, computer control stuff, absolutely everything. These are two COMPLETLY different engines altogether. You could do it, but it would just about amount to switching radiator caps because you would have to switch everything.

i did the change over, any human being with good knowledge to LEARN and take time to do the project it can be done. motor, tranny, ecu with the harness that extends from motor to above gas tank and to the evap canister. you will need drive shafts, shift linkage (if manual) cause that's what my car is. motor mount, i would recommend swapping the guage cluster. if you have the ignition that came with the original motor and key that's great, if you don't, go to dealer they charged me 40 bucks and i had a locksmith program my key for 80, at the dealer to get a key made its best to know your vin number saves alot of time. i just recomment getting a donor car that's wrecked either from autcion or wherever.
