How do you replace rear wheel bearings on an Olds Cutlass?
Answer It's pretty easy, at least the rear bearings. You lift the car. Take the wheel off. Then take the drum off. This will be a pain. I found that if it's stuck put some penetrating lube where the drum meets the bearing assembly in the middle, engage the parking brake, then take a rod(like a tire iron) and put it between the lug bolts. You can actually get the hub/bearing to rock back and forth separate from the drum. There's a little bit of play around the lug bolts. That and banging it with a mallet should get it off. You remove the bearing/hub assembly mounting bolts through the holes in the hub plate. I guess some years have nuts on the back, mine didn't. Then you should be able to pull the hub/bearing assembly out. I'm still working on that as mine's stuck in. From Cowbot: I am at this moment performing this operation.... the drums came off easy but a rubber mallet or a hammer tapping around the outside of the drum can help get th drum off. I have it off but still don't see how to get at the bearing.
Use a slide hammer and a puller attached to the studs - similar to a harmonic balancer puller.
The bearing is pressed onto (and off) the axle shaft .
Insert the axle shaft ensuring the splines engage at the differential, and tap the rest of the way in
with a soft faced hammer.

How do you replace the low beam bulb on a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass?
I have a 1999 olds Cutlass GL but the bulb replacement should be the same 1. With the hood open and the engin off, pull the fastener out of the plastic splash shield covering the top of the headlamp assembly and remove it. 2. Carefully pull directly up on the two latches 3. Remove the lamp assembly from the vehicle by pulling forward. 4. Unclip the wiring harness and twist the bulb less than on-quarter of a turn counterclockwise and remove. Gently wiggle the bulb out of the socket. 5. Reconnect the wiring harness to the bulb or lamp assembly 6. Replace the lamp to its original position by carefully lining up the lamp to the mounting balls. 7. Press down on the tow latches. Replace the splash shield by pushing down on the retainer. 3. Close bleeder valve.
4. After valve is closed, tell second person to pump brake 2 or 3 times, and hold pedal down.
4. Repeat process until only brake fluid comes out.
5. Repeat for each wheel.
