Where is thermostat on 97 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme 3.1 Liter. How hard is it remove.

I've looked also and have yet to find it, service manual doesn't say specifically that it has one. Having just spent a Saturday looking for it I don't think it exists. My problem came down to the MAF sensor.

The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS Sensor) is located underneath the air intake< right below the Idle Control Valve. If your new, Find where your throttle cable hooks up & its right there.

Its on the throttle body. When you follow the throttle cable, you will see it go to a lever that turns a shaft. The TPS is on the opposite end of the shaft.

Easiest way i know of is to take the alternator bolt off and the belt will fall of then re line the belt and put the alternator back on using a pry bar against the strut mounts or have a friend pull it into place while you slide the bolt in

It is bolted on the steering column behind the dash, along with the dimmer switch. You have to drop the column and unscrew the switch. Problem is, the plug with the wiring also has the wiring for the turn signals and dimmer switch. You may have to do some splicing unless you want to feed a harness up the column.

The oxygen sensor on the 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra is located on the lower exhaust. If you need to replace it, they are available for about $20 online.

i had the same problem, and it had to do with one of the wires that go from the battery to the fuse box, just move the wires a bit, and the lights should come back on

The most common cause would be a Low Brake Fluid situation in the Master Cylinder. Also, the ABS system has a balancing valve in the Fluid circuit. If the valve is not in the normal position for some reason, the ABS System should see this as a fault and turn on the light.

Normally there will be a big plastic hose or tube looking thing coming from the top of the engine. It should go to the right side of the engine where you will find a box that has tabs on it. The filter is inside.

On my 94 Ciera with V6 the engine air filter is in a round black canister next to the battery. Remove the intake hose, and the round filter is held down with a wingnut.

you must change out the tourqe converter or hydrolic kit on trans.

Pick up a Chilton's manual. It's got all the info you need. In short, you'll need to pull the throttle body, radiator hose, alternator, power steering pump, upper plenum then lower plenum. The fuel rail with injectors. Front and rear valve covers. Loosen the rocker arms. Remove the push rods. KEEP THEM IN ORDER. They are different lengths for intake and exhaust. Remove the intake gasket and remove the lifters. Install is just a reversal. Check Chilton's for torque specs....etc.

Place timing marks dot to dot using a straight edge from crank center to cam centerline

The 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass cam sensor is located on the back of the left cylinder head. The cam sensor should be labeled as such.

Check idle air control valve on throttle body. Mine had similer problems. A quick fix to get you going should be just unplug and remove spray w/ cleaner to get carbon off spring and cone shaft, reinstall. remember, this is just temporary.

This gun was made in 1938. Are you sure this is a Sweet Sixteen? Pre-war Sweet 16's made from 1937-1940 were not marked as such, but they did exist. To verify, check the trigger: It should be a light gold color; Sometimes they get worn and look like polished silver - but it won't be blued. Next, unscrew the magazine cap off, remove forend and inspect the barrel. Sweet 16 barrels have three holes drilled through the barrel band that goes around the magazine tube. While it's apart, check the serial number on the barrel band and be sure it matches the number on the bottom of the receiver. Then look inside the forend and check the serial number stamped inside. Identifying a Sweet 16 includes other things too detailed to explain here, but this should be enough to identify your particular gun. If all of these things coincide, then you have a Sweet sixteen. If not, then you have a Standard Weight 16 ga. Auto-5. Value depends on condition. Pre war sweets are of more interest to collectors than shooters, and the real value comes from originality and percentage of finish remaining on the gun. Originality matters with original finish, all matching numbers, and no recoil pads or poly chokes. Low end is $350-$500 on these guns will normal wear (less than 90% finish.) A gun that is 98% to mint can bring $1200 plus. Have a gun shop apraise the gun for you to narrow it down.

Not without changing a lot of other parts, radiator support grills fender moldings and stone shield.

under the front of the car you'll see something that looks like a black tube it has a bolt on the back of it undo the bolt oil will drain out change the oil filter witch is by the belt on the motor it hard to get to but you can do it chang the filter bit the bolt back in and replace oil done

i had same problem on my 94 cutlass supreme...long story short, it was the ignition switch. $300. at shop.
