What is it sound like when the water pump in a truck goes out?
If it's not leaking, try this. Find a small wooden rod, dowel rod, broom handle, and place on the outer side of the pump as the engine is running. MAKE SURE you don't get it in the fan or it slips off into the fan. Hold it to the pump, hold other end to your ear. If you don't hear a smooth turning of the bearings, your pump needs replaced. You should just hear a humming noise of a turning bearing.

How do you reset abs light on a 2000 Oldsmobile silhouette?
You can not rest the light it will shut off only when the problem is located and fixed the most common problem for these models is that the fuse will blow due to over heating if that is not bad then it is the wheel hub sensor it will go bad on either of the front wheels they were only equiped with frront wheel ABS as with most GMC front FWD vehichles so.......
1. Check the fuse if blown change it.
2. Check the wire harness going to the hubs.
3. Remove the rotor & caliper and look at the acceluration wheel on the ABS assembly, If damaged replace.
4.Last if all is good on that front remove your power brake booster (ONLY IF THERE IS EVIDENCE OF LOSE OF BRAKE FLUID FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER) and check the vaccum and for leaking within the boosters housing.
5. hopefully that will fix it

I would suspect the switch. I had a 1992 Transport (little brother to Silhouette) with exactly the same problem, I have the Hayes repair manual with schematics, and was eventually able to trace it to a broken (open circuit) tan wire from the rhs switch back to the drivers door. I never did find the break or bad connection, but was able to drive the window up by touching a ground wire to the tan wire terminal on the back of rhs switch. You can NOT leave the ground on or the drivers switch will short the +12v to ground and blow it. If you want more info, email me rob@syn.ca

Start the engine and let it warm up until the thermosat opens. Standing in front of the vehicle there is a small bleed valve located on the right just above the thermostat open it until the coolant comes out and shut it back off. Located on the left of the engine just above the water pump is another bleed valve, do the same with it. You may have to do this two or three times before you have all the air out of the system.

It sounds as though the wiper arm that controls the wipers is attached backwards. I would call a mechanic and have the wiper motor taken off and put back on.
The wiper park arm on these cars are prone to failure.you will probably need a new one.Its attached directly to the wiper motor. If you are mechanically inclined you could probably change it yourself. You need to remove the wiper motor/wiper transmission from the car.the park arm is held onto the motor with one bolt on a splined shaft, they are difficult to syncronize correctly so make sure when you remove the old arm you note its position so you can line the new one up correctly
