ORIGINAL POST: In Mesa, there is the "Tiger House" which I believe is at the end of S Eastridge, which is the road that heads south off guadalupe between Hawes and the Santan freeway, it is said that there a little boy was killed when his tree house fell over and then the sister committed suicide over her brothers death, the father had a cage in his backyard and had a bunch of tigers there, and he had a get-together with some friends and left them in the cage as he went to get some drinks he came back and they were all dead, he later killed his wife and then committed suicide in the the house to avoid being arrested for his wife's murder... It's said that the children are buried under the trees next to the main brick fence, the brother is buried under the bigger one (I went there and got A LOT of activity including a piano playing as I requested, and I heard screams and gasps from what sounded like a woman, I also heard a person whistle several time per my request).

Then there is the jefferson park located at jefferson street two blocks west of power and broadway, its said that a young woman was brutally raped and murdered at that park, and that her soul was never set free, each night between 11:15 pm and midnight you can see her walk from tree to tree as she relives her final moments...

And then there is another in casa grande (it's quite a haul but should be well worth it) there are The Domes, they where built around 30 years ago to be used as a factory that never ended up being used for reasons no one knows, no one knows why its haunted but in the back dome you can hear voices and see a shadowy figure walk from dome to dome you can sometimes see this figure walking in the surrounding desert, while in your car you hear someone tapping on your car, you have an uneasy feeling as though something catastrophic is gonna happen and you can feel a minor vibration in the energy surrounding the area as well as the area itself and have a constant feeling that someone is there with you.

COMMENT/INFO FROM ANOTHER READER: South Eastridge provides entrance to my community, which was built in 2000. There is no history or neighborhood folklore of which I'm aware that supports the "Tiger House" story you mention. You say you visited the house, is it possible you named the wrong street? The kids in Gilbert---up Guadalupe to the west---talk about and hang out at a "Tiger House" there, but I don't know why it's called that. Additionally (and unclear whether this is related or not), in January 2014, local news reported that Arizona Fish and Game removed a 200-pound tiger from a house in Gilbert. Don't know if that's the same place the kids congregate, *or* if that's related to the haunted house.

The Egyptian 'Book of the Dead' relays the belief in a journey to the underworld as the dead, it includes ancient Egyptian dead and demons and gods and spells. A ancient persons near death experience may have led to the making of the book, or the book may have inspired belief in the afterlife and colored the consciousness of a person near death.

Many skeptic scientists simply believe that superstitions are just fear through folklore.

Psychology has studied the effects of superstitions and have discovered that if the belief in the superstition is strong enough the person can suffer the effects of the result of that superstition.

It seems with many superstitions they derived from an action / reaction scenario.

A person spilled some salt and may have had an accident and blamed the spilling of salt on the accident. The next time they spilled the salt they threw some over their shoulder and didn't have an accident that day. Thus a superstition is born.

Sports athletes often have a very strong and varied form of superstitions such as never washing their socks, or a pregame ritual that they do, thinking that it will help them win.

the paranormal can indeed be dangerous especially if it is a demon. a demon is not like a ghost because it is not human in any kind of way. if a demon gets inside you an exorcism can be porformed but it doesn't always work. the demon can take over you and turn you into a murderer and also make you kill yourself too.

Paranormal activity is basically happenings or occurences of unexplained phenomena related to anything considered to be supernatural. This can include ghosts, demons, monsters, psychic phenomena, time travel, and other unexplained mysteries.

Well, if you think demons exist, and if you believe they dance and stuff, then yes, but if you said no to all that, then your answer is nope.

Early science and early religion (belief in ghosts is part of religion) are both prehistoric (before people invented writing) - so we shall never have a definitive answer to this question.

One of the most interesting theories I have seen is argued by Robert Graves in his book The White Goddess. Graves suggests that early science (mainly basic biology and astronomy - the two cornerstones of the earliest civilisations) were not distinct from early religion: the religious stories gave a theoretical framework which allowed the observational discoveries of primitive science to be tied together into easily memorised and predictive theories.

Graves even suggests that the sequence of the letters of the alphabet contains important knowledge about tree biology. I'm not sure I could go that far with him.
