Are sister wives still together?
Yep! The Brown Family from Sister Wives is currently filming Season 2 and working out some of the legal problems that have arisen from the show.
How does someone become a sister wife?
To become a sister wife, you must marry a man that is already married to someone else. You would need to find and contact a family or religious organization that believes in and performs polygamous marriages (also called "plural marriages"). This can be difficult since polygamy is illegal in the US, Canada, and Europe, but with some good online searching, they can be found. Typically in western countries polygamy is practiced for religious reasons (in Africa and Asia it is usually just a custom) so you would probably have to convert to the religion before being considered eligible for entering a polygamous relationship and becoming a sister wife.
Sister wives join families either through the courting of the husband or by expressing to the family that they are interested in joining. Some polygamous groups also believe in arranged marriages. It all just depends on the custom of the family or group.
Does the Mormon church financial support the sister wives?
Most definitely not. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) banned polygamy over 100 years ago. The Church does not provide financial support to any sister-wife. The Church will provide in-kind help (food, clothing, emergency supplies, job training, etc) to people outside of their faith who apply for assistance.
If you are speaking of the Sister Wives tv show, no. The Browns of the tv show are not members of the Mormon Church. Both Kody and Janelle left the Mormon Church to join the Apostolic United Brethren. Their church may provide financial support, but the Mormon church does not.

Yes. Kody Brown served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) in San Antonio, Texas. While he was away, his parents converted to the Apostolic United Brethren. When Kody returned, he left the Mormon church and joined the Apostolic United Brethren with his parents. He and his family still belong to that church.
What episode of sister wives do they talk about warren jeffs?
Warren Jeffs is often discussed on Sister Wives. The Brown family makes it very clear that they are not a part of the church that is run by Warren Jeffs, and their lifestyle is incredibly different from the lifestyle of his Fundamentalist Latter-Day Saint community.
Jeffs and his community are specifically discussed on the episode "Polygamist Cults," the 15th episode of the third season, in which Aspyn, Logan, and Madison go to Utah to serve a charity that helps people escaping dangerous polygamist situations. The FLDS polygamist community is also brought up again in the ninth episode of the fourth season, called "Sister Wives on the Ropes." In that episode, the sister wives and Kody take part in a debate at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas about the nature of polygamy. Opposing the Browns in the debate are members of different polygamist groups, including one from the Warren Jeffs community.
What was the significance of Reynolds v. US?
Reynolds was the first test of the First Amendment Free Exercise Clause that guarantees the the freedom of religion.
First Amendment
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
On its face, the Constitution appears to forbid the US government from interfering in any aspect of religious practice. In Reynolds, however, the Waite Court held that Congress had no power to exercise control over opinions, but could limit actions that violated community social norms or subverted social order.
This decision created an exception to the First Amendment, demonstrating even constitutionally protected rights are not absolute.

What is the difference between an extended and a polygamous family?
An extended family is one which consists of parents, children, grand children and sometimes the sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews of the parents. Sometimes extended families live near each other, but most often modern extended families live some distance apart and come together only during formal reunions, special holidays gatherings, and for marriages and funerals. A polygamous family is one in which one person has more than one spouse at the same time. The two best known forms are polygyny (one man having more than one wife), or as polyandry (one woman having more than one husband). A polygamous family is one in which the spouses and their children live together and operate as a large family unit. A polygamous family may be considered to be one particular type of extended family.

Meri worked full time in mental health, but was fired when Sister Wives first aired in September 2010 to protect the interests of the company and it's clients. Christine is the designated 'stay at home' mom - her job is keeping all the kids entertained, doing household chores, making meals, etc. Robyn has announced that she is looking for a job but due to the popularity of the show and the current economy, she is having a hard time finding one.
When did polygamy end as the standard practice?
In the US, polygamy was never a standard practice. Even Utah wasn't allowed to be a state until they stopped it.
In general, polygamy for Christians died out in a couple centuries after Christ. He preached that one man should cleave to one woman, and love became more important in marriage than community ties.
Polygamy continues for other groups. It is not compatible with customs of free democratic countries, however and is not allowed anymore.

Same-sex marriage is not related to polygamy, just as interracial marriage or interdenominational marriage has nothing to do with polygamy.
Is it legal anywhere in the world for a man to marry a transsexual or have 3 way marriage?
First of all -- we're talking about civil marriage, not religious marriage.
In the United States, some states require a couple to file as "husband" and "wife," so only opposite-sex couples can get married. In other states, the couple are simply "spouse" and "spouse", and same-sex marriage is allowed. Civil marriages among 3 or more people are not legal anywhere in the U.S.
I'm not sure people realize that when a person surgically corrects his or her sex, that change is also reflected on their identification (driver's license, passport, etc.). Therefore, when a person who was born a man becomes a woman, legally speaking, she is then free to marry a man, even in states where same-sex marriage is prohibited.
As far as the rest of t he world is concerned I really do not know. In Mexico City, same sex marriages are allowed, and people who are transsexuals can marry either people of their new sex, or different sex, since their identity, is changed, and all their documents need to be changed according to their new sexual identity.
In some countries, polygamous marriages are traditional and common, so they are legal. I believe Nepal is one such country. I've heard that it is traditional for two brothers to marry the same woman.
How long do you go to prison if you are a sister wife?
This depends on the state/country and the sentence the judge gives you. In some countries, polygamy is legal so you will not go to prison. While polygamy is illegal in the United States, each state has its own laws. The least severe penalties include Hawaii (30 days in jail), Montana ($500 fine and 6 months in jail), and Rhode Island ($1000 fine). The most severe penalties are found in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Maryland, which can carry a prison sentence of up to 10 years. Most states have bigamy as a minor felony, punishable by 5 years in prison and several thousand dollars in fines.
